You took it to a retail park?!!!

I made it in one piece didn't I? Marmite and I are getting used to everyday life together... had to go sideways over a speed bump to get in but I managed to pick up a new set of trainers while I was there... happy days!

Excellent, good man
I'm actually glad you're driving it and not got it covered up in a garage. Bet it gets some looks.
Are you going to paint over the parking sensors? I think it will look better if you do?

Hat off to you Brad

The entire car is having a proper respray and the tiny little imperfections are being sorted out too. Driving this car around a bit is super important as it's helping me find out where it can and cannot go... where it will and will not scrape... etc. It's also boosting my confidence in the car and getting me used to the width... drove it down some lovely country lanes and traffic could barely pass it but everyone seemed considerate and moved out of my way to allow me to pass.

Got it up to '70mph' and the spacers are holding up ok until my revamped ones arrive from Mr Monkey.

I am confident that I can drive this thing to a meet very soon.

You must be so pleased. It's a lot of hard work, many hours and pounds gone into it and the end result has been worth it for you.
You've took a bit of stick as well and it's always been met with good humour. I understand how you feel, I drive a yellow car

What is the height clearance off the ground? If you can get over speed bumps sideways then that's a bonus.
Did it feel ok at speed?

Honestly it's far better than I ever hoped. The lightness of the power steering is completely unaffected considering I have 11j front alloys... as long as I run high enough pressure in the tyres 40psi rears and 38psi fronts... I run very little risk of my silly stretched tyres popping out.

At speed the car is planted and slightly quicker than stock (I have saved 42kg in weight altogether including the added weight of the bodywork)... the ONLY issue I am having at present is turning sharply LEFT... the front arch scrapes horribly but has ZERO issues when doing the same angle of turn in the opposite direction??? I have concluded it is down to the passenger side 'homemade bumper bracket' being slightly bigger than the homemade bumper bracket for the driver side so all I need to do it prop it up on a jack and grind away about 2cm of redundant aluminium and I will be able to turn left again! YAY!

 I have an image of you going round and round in circles.

At least you can do islands. Just can't get off them!

Don't get me wrong... I CAN turn left... it just makes that noise you get when you stick your dick in the hoover :| *FFLLLLURRRRPPPPPP..P..P..PP....RRRRR...FLUURRRRPPPP...

*Not speaking from experience fyi...

Hmmmmmm. There's actually so many answers but so little time. :D

Love the looks from the front!

Thought I'd pop by and see how it's going and lookylooky! Haaaa, video made me laugh. Possibly the best sign off ever.

It's definitely weird looking, but then so is the Mona Lisa and people seem to think that's pretty good.
I like it though, it reminds me of a Hotwheels type toy from way back.

Looking forward to seeing the finished article. Popping back into the forum is all the Z4 fun I get anymore, my diesel snore-o-wagon isn't quite so entertaining....sooo much cheaper to run though.

Oh, and before anyone gets to flaming, I'm not comparing this to the Mona Lisa. More so, I am comparing that some people think the Mona Lisa is an amazing piece of art, others that it is just a fairly poor painting of some random prostitute with what is either a dodgy smile or some trapped wind.

I knew it reminded me of someone...

Tiny imperfections?

Got it up to 70mph?

You is living the life

Can't wait for the 40mph Dulux Porsche

For all the haters...

The official BMW manufacturer instagram page with over 1.05million followers just 'liked' that photo of my car. This is as much proof as any that BMW are absolutely in favour of project Marmite... in your faces! :D LOL

Brad the new revised spacers are coming along buddy  I just need you to confirm the c/b of the wheels.

I know Mr Monkey! :D I am swapping over to some more sensible tyres today (less silly stretch) and I will measure the CB then.

much love <3

What's the deal with the wheels? Are they padded with cardboard or something? Looks like they need to be raised slightly, and a spacer added, they're lost in the arches.
