Get ya...

how much height do you gain by angling it up like that ?

That's the trick... no height gain at all... it's just forcing the lowest point of the car to no longer be there in speed bump situations...

SCIENCE: Think of it like a 20p piece... they are designed to role perfectly like a circle so they work in vending machines etc... so the total diameter of the 20p piece at any point is always the same... even though the sides are cut out like a hexagon... it's not a circle but has the same functionality as a circle... same principle... the upward curve keeps the car low and tidy... yet can go over speed bumps provided you angle the car in such a way that the bump slots into that extra space you create by the upwards curve.

Absolutely incredible.

Or maybe not.

Just a note to say I saw the marmite machine yesterday driving near Bournemouth (you were heading West). I have to say it looked a lot more impressive 'in the flesh' than any of the photos posted so far.

:O
You can park over a curb! I thought this was low?!

I give you credit for having a sexy girlfriend/wife/sister/whatever but that car is godawful. I'm with el-taco on this one.

Are you able to knock the bondo off and get back to the original steel? At least put some paint on the thing so it isn't just dirty looking...

Yeah that's the reception it usually gets when I bump into forum members. There's a chap at my gym who own a white 3.0 e85 and he saw it for the first time the other day and seemed impressed with it.

Currently at 4x4 height for road testing, it's fundemental I get key body stresses and potential fractures tested before I paint or lower it to a silly height. Don't worry I got another 50mm of play in the coilovers left to work with.

:tumbleweed:

What a firkin mess. Many hours of our life looking at this that we'll never get back

Nobody pick up on this? So much to go on. Simple stupidity or are you much nicer people?

SCIENCE. Ffs. Count the sides of a 20p or even consider the properties of a circle. What a forum, self selecting group I guess. Of fuckwits.

el taco, there is a big difference between having an opinion and being so derogatory that you tend to become more of a joke than the car you are deriding. :poke: A lot of us on here had initial shock reactions of horror when brad started this project, many thinking it would never see the light of day or would fall to bits under the weight of filler, but as most on here now recognise that the car is like brad always said it was a showcar and he wanted to go wild and wide with free license and free thinking. despite many setbacks and lack of support he has showed amazing tenacity, and stickability where many many others would have given up. brad has done everything he said he would do, and documented every step, providing hours of forum debate , humour and difference of opnion.most on here regardless of whether they love ,hate or have any views on the end product would agree that brad has a lot of qualities , staying positive against all odds and the doomsayers, and taken a hell of a lot of flak in good spirit, carried on regardless to bring his vision to life.bloody good on him ! i for one think it has turned out way better than i ever thought, anyone can go and buy a veilside bodykit or similar, brad and co have done it all themselves and i absolutely take my hat off to him ! :driving:

A decent summary of the project well put & not everyday you get to use the word "stickability"
looking forward to your thoughts on the science of the 20p design ? :D

To help identification and avoid confusion with similar sized coins the 20p is seven sided and like the 50p an equilateral curve heptagon. The shape, with its constant rolling diameter, means that it is readily acceptable in vending machines.

So, @El Taco, it appears that Brad is correct about the 20p having a constant rolling diameter - so surely the real 'fuckwit' is the person who doesn't even bother to check facts before they start hurling abuse...?

El Taco, cheers for making me laugh with the word 'fuckwit' don't hear that nearly enough  However, I'm afraid you might well be the biggest 'fuckwit' on this forum (although there are other part time 'fuckwits' on here).
There, that's got the 'fuckwit' count up for the day!

keep up the good work Brad
