UPDATE:
Thank you all so much for your kind words. I really am touched... This really has had me on the verge of tears all evening and I have already had a massive response from the modified car community of the South of England with over 480 'shares' of my post on facebook prying for information on what has taken place...
So I will take the time to share with you absolutely everything I know about what has happened to far and you're going to really like how juicy this has become. First off a complete list of items stolen: PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT.
4 x 19" BBS LH-R 'replica' Deep dish alloys, finished in Matte Black.
2 x Potenza tyres 225/35/19
2 x Conti Sport 3 tyres 235/35/19
1 x Clear third brake light bought from Sopers lincoln 1 week ago.
1 x K&N performance Air filter 8" cone in Silver (Was in my boot for a friends Audi TT)
2 x Front blacked out RHD Angel eye head light units, brand new still in boxes.
2 x D2 Coilovers Front BMW E85 'race' versions. Finished in Blue and Yellow.
Things I still have thankfully:
4 x machine monkey spacers

they couldn't get these off due to locking wheel nuts, but they are scratched to high hell.
2 x Rear D2 Coilovers (much harder to remove therefore they didnt try I don't think)
2 x Tinted rear tailights (Only so much you can carry right)
1 x Sodding awful front bumper

(most people hate it so who would even dream of stealing it anyway)
Here is information for all of you who might fancy some detective work and to also prove to you that this is indeed a REAL CRIME, I have seen instances where people have made fake claims for insurance hikes and other reasons so for all of you involved as you are like my family:
CRIME REFERENCE NUMBER: 18055
OFFICER MCKENNA: PC 1799
Dorset Police force.
So here goes nothing:
This build has been one of the most highly publicised events to occur in the South of England modified culture, it has atracted a lot of attention from both local press and photographers, magazines and I have even been in contact with Jules from Fast Car maagzine about a potential feature. This means keeping a project like this under wraps has not been easy and people have come to visit the car during various stages of the build but the garage location has been a well kept secret for some time and I can only count the number of people who know of the cars location with two hands, if that.
The last thing to happen to the car was the coilovers to be fitted, we put the spacers on and the wheels and lowered the car by 60mm and stood back and appreciated the new stance of the car. With the suspension sorted and spacers fitted we now no longer needed to guess what sizes the arches needed to be and so could finaly begin working on the completed bodywork.
Now onto the crime itself:
I got informed of the crime at 7pm GMT today (Friday 10th May) after swinging by the garage to pick up the old suspension that came off the car on the Thursday. Now I knew Gary (one of my friends) was going to be there waiting for me so you an imagine my surprise when the garage was locked up and no one was to be seen... gary informed me that there had been a break in the previous night and that various tools and computer parts had been stolen and that as all. So I sighed a sign of relief and peered through the window to see my z4, stacked up on jack stands with no alloys and the boot WIDE OPEN. Now I don't have keys to the garage myself so I called Gary back to ask if he had infact taken the wheels off my car again in order to adjust the suspension again and he said he had not... He drove over immediately and opened up the garage again and we found the z4 ransacked and completely gutted.
He at this stage informed me that the he had been 'told' that the break in occured through a small window around 10 feet above the ground in a small window that had been smashed that lead to a walkway that overlooked the garage floor. Now here comes the interesting bit. The door has NOT been forced and the garage alarm not triggered or the door tampered with in any way... what strikes me as odd is that the window is barely big enough to fit a small child through let alone a set of 4 19" Deep dish 10j alloys WITH tyres, not even factoring in the logistics behind lugging 4 of these alloys up a small fire escape style ladder... THINGS ARE JUST NOT ADDING UP.
WHY would you break into a garage through a window and steal alloys and tyres that CANNOT and I repeat CANNOT fit through the supposed exit route? They would have had to force the door or find another exit route to make a clean exit with the tyres... yes the coilovers and the lights and the other tools stolen are plausable but not the Alloys and tyres...
I hate to say it and I HATE TO POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS. But it smells like an inside job... someone with keys must have enabled entry to not set off the alarm and to get the wheels and tyres off the car in the first place... I mean come on the car was left PERFECTLY jacked up on axel stands, balanced and safely tucked away... Doesn't sound like your average Snatch and grab job does it?
I have since contacted the local police and they have indeed informed me that the crime number i was given was correct and the officer is a real officer and I have arranged for him to meet up with me for a statement at 8am tomorrow morning and to air my concerns.
What does everyone else think? Gary and I have been working on this car for the best part of a month now and he has never let me down or ever shed any doubt on my trust for him. It's worth mentioning that conveniently the two owners of the Garage (which gary rents the space from) left for a 2 week holiday in Thailand THIS MORNING... COINCIDENCE???
What is going on people?
