Programming Remote Control?

Hi, i took delivery of my 2007 07 Plate Z4 Roadster yesterday and noticed it didnt have things like complete closure on the windows. After reading the user manual and doing a search on here ive seen that features like complete closure, remote open windows/soft-top and also convenience entry (drivers window opens to allow easy access when in garage for example then closes again when door is closed) is possible but these features need activating.

Is there anywhere in the leicestershire UK area that can do this or will it need a trip to sytner?

Go back to the dealer and ask them why your wernt made aware of these programming features, with a bid of luck they may do it FOC.
 
Unfortunately the dealership is 100 miles away and a 3-4 hour round trip just to get there. Ive rang my local sytner though and they are going to reprogram the car this saturday for me at a price of £38 which i thort isnt bad.
 
Go and see Jason at B&W Auto Repairs in London. He can program pretty much anything on the E46s and E85's. He can program convenience opening for windows, top and folding the mirrors via the keyfob.

Alternatively, you can buy the modules from several different places on the net. I have one installed in mine, works well.
 
I have been trying to find out how to program my remote to open the roof but i don't think it is possible to do it on a 2003, can some clarify this for me please

mine is an 04 and I've had mine done by an independant - dealer couldn't manage it :o
 
Works just fine on my 2003 so see no reason why it shouldn't on yours, except that some markets have slightly different features available.

Mine too, a late 2003 3.0 model. An independent did it for me and added many other features at the same time.
 
I really need to get a few bits programmed.I'd like my mirrors to fold after locking, open/shut roof remotely on the fob.Flash and beep on arming /disarming etc.
 
where can i get this done (Ireland) - anyone on here ever had it done in Ireland. What kind of equipment does the independent have to have, thanks in advance

Where I took mine they used the kit I've linked to in this thread
 
Anyone know of an indy in the midlands area that can do this then? I'll still go styner as the price seems good but for future reference it would be nice to know
 
Ok cool, thanks, what would be the recommended price to pay for remote roof operation or typically any kind of work similar in nature, thanks
 
I was quoted £33 plus vat by sytner in leicester which looking at previous posts on the subject seems a good price as other posts have quoted £40-60
 
Ok cool, thanks -i'm not sure what to call this type of work so could someone help me out here. I'd like to post a thread on a local forum in Ireland to see if i can find someone who can help me out. What should i ask for, thanks again in advance
 
Its just called a car reprogram as far as i know, when i rang bmw they knew straight away what i meant. You can also get key reprograms as the key can store settings such as climate control, seat position, auto door lock after drive away, this is handy if you have more the one driver who each have thier own key.
 
Yeah would be cool if they just gave you access to turn the features off/on yourself. I'm making sure ive got a list of all available features before i go so i get all the ones i want activated.

Main ones i want are convenient entry and complete closure/open. Have a look through the user manual it explains all the features available.
