Professional Speakers - 2013 LCI model

I'd be interested to know what system you're getting, amp, speakers etc if different from any mentioned above as I may experiment with a new setup next year...

As I said above will almsot certainlt be built around this amp http://www.mobridge-ipod.co.uk/media/resources/mObridge-Amplifier-Flyer.pdf as it plugs straight into the MOST network so no splicing off speaker output which would still have distortion anyway. Unfortunatly not out until January. One amazing thing about this amp is it size, it's tiny compared to other amps it's size, so install will be descrete to say the least.

Most likely I'll use hi-end focal speakers to replace the woofer in kickwells, plus mid in doors and tweeters above them. Plus two new subs behind the seats as the existing speaker won't handle the amp. Probably going to scarifice the rears, and centres, the latter have to go anyway, and focus on accurate music reproduction. A cabin that small doesn't need rears. All the speaker placements and grills are there from pro hifi so looking for direct replacements rather than new holes trim etc so really hoping for stealth install. Not sure how this would work on car without them already.

I will let you know how I get on and what I finally decided on and what it finally sounds like.

Of course one other point from this is I'll have the speakers and amp from the professional speaker package available if anyone wanted to make me an offer on them. Alternatively I may keep them so they can be put back if I ever get rid of the car.... need to think about that.

my £0.02, I personally wouldn't be rushing to mobridge's amp given the lack of popularity.

Their da2000 coupled with a processor with optical input and then onto a decent amplifier would be my suggestion, especially given you've opted for a set of focals (which I have a huge soft spot for)

In all honestly having gone down the route of obtaining decent quality (albeit on somewhat of a budget) I would recommend a 2 way set up over a 3 way and run them active.

With a decent processor you'll then be able to set your own crossover points on the tweeter, woofer and subwoofer and really lift the soundstage up nice and high.

I went with an audison bit10d personally and I can't utter a word bad about the unit especially at it's price point.

The mobridge amp is brand new and not out until January. It combines all the processing power (and then some) of the DA2 with an amplifier including active crossovers, time delays etc..... It new tech, but I don't mind being an early adopter. When you see the size of it compared to a processor and external amp(s) and then consider the boot size in the zed 4. On top of all of this the sound quality is said to be stunning so much so the installer is saying only focals will do it justice. I'm going to hear it for myself before I purchase mind.....

Argghhh, service manager at the dealership who agree the deal with me has suddenly left the company before sending the confirmation email. Right now I feel like I'm back to square one......... :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
