My E85 Z4 severely struggle s at cold start and I can't seem to figure out why. It only struggles when the car has been sitting over night which is over right hours. It won't start without a crank and a push of the aclerater. My assumption is that it has something to do with the fuel pump since the car starts fine when warm

This thread is about fuses. You will get a far better response creating a new topic in the appropriate place.

Does anyone know the side effect of pulling out the following fuses? ASC/DSC - 7, 24, 42, 43. I have a failed DSC pump and was tired of looking at the warning lights ($3500 to fix and I don't drive car in bad weather so was going to let it go for now). In any case, I pulled these fuses and now the car won't start, just cranks. Put them back in, the same thing won't start. I'm getting this very odd whirring noise from the right rear wheel well when I turn the ignition on. Something I've not heard before. 2007 Z4 M E85

Did you find out what the whirring noise from the right rear wheel well was? I heard it yesterday on my car (e85 2.5i) and intrigued what it is.

From that location it’s likely to be the fuel pump and a whirring noise is normal.

So, I just aquired this Z4, and I have a host of problems (I posted to the new user thread).
The big stumbling block is that I cannot talk to the computer with an OBD2 scanner to try and clear codes.

The dashboard LCDs are flakey looking. when I first turn the key the trip meter says -43200 with missing segments. When started you see the above picture.

I cannot get it to talk to two different OBD2 scanners. voltage is 12.1 at the fuse panel when the car is off.
