The rh button above the steering column which should should show the clock reset or the oil level indicator does not work . Any suggestions please.

A new topic would better highlight your issue.

Does anyone know if it is possible to access an unused fuse, does the fusebox need to be disassembled? (BMW tend to use KSK harnesses, so it is unlikely redundant wires will be present). So for example my car does not have folded mirrors so I would like to use fuse 27 to provide an ignition feed to my dash cam and/or provide some ignition fed USB charging ports.

Big thanks to Big_Al for the fusebox matrix, very useful.

I used one of these, much easier than wiring into the back of the fuse box. check the size though I'm not sure if this is the right one http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=310504&productId=1037734&storeId=10001

Hi
My Z4 (Sept. 2008 2.0 sport roadster) has a fuse popping, but the fuse assignments on the card by the fuse box are slightly different to the list at the head of this thread. I've scanned in mine for info:

z4 fuses.jpg

Mine keeps blowing fuse 10, a 5A fuse that covers the locking system, interior lights, and what looks like a thermometer. The fuse doesn't blow when the auto airconditioning/heating is 'off'. When it's switched on the fuse doesn't go immediately but seems to go as the blower starts going. I think the blower itself runs ok. What system is this fuse covering, and what component might be at fault?

MAny thanks (and hopefully the fuse card diagram is useful to others).

" Can someone do me a favour please

My 3.0si coupe is marked to have a 20a in fuse 19 but mine doesn't have a fuse in it.

Can someone check if their 19 has a fuse there or is it also missing

Car is a 2007 "

I have the same on a 2007 z4mc

Is that nr 19 fuse required ?

It states that together with nr 33 it's for the fuel pump, but the car seems to be running fine without it.

Nope, not fitted. If you look at the pic of the fusebox half way down on pg 2 of this thread you can see the std 3.0Si fuses... bearing in mind this is an e85.... https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=104224&hilit=Bluetooth&start=15

Hi Northman,
Did you get to the bottom of the cause of this? My Zed has started doing exactly the same. :-(

Mine too Hughesy99...same car too. Started with alarm going off...removed siren and that sorted it for a while, but then body control unit flipped out. Had that reset and all good till yesterday.
So it seems to be linked to security but this fuse controls the windows and worse the wipers! Any ideas welcome... :headbang:

Ok, so we've had a few members report problems associated with fuses.

I thought I would pull together this guide to fuses, and their functions so that any members searching for fuse related issues would arrive here in future. I've organised the thread so that anyone searching can find the specific terms. There's a picture at the bottom of this post with the fuse numbers and their relative positions

Fuse box access is through the glove box. Push up on the tabs shown in the circles below to drop the glovebox down fully, which will reveal the fuses....

Please advise of any errors or ommissions, and I'll update the list

Hi, brilliant write up and very useful with the fuse numbers and what they do. Can i ask if i am trying to hardwire my dashcam to go on/off with the ignition would fuse 47 ( radio ) be a good one to use?. any advice would be great. Thanks.

Assuming you're fitting it up by the mirror there's a switched live wire up there, saves running one from the fuse box, there's a guide https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=73905

Do all the facelift cars have cards with little pictures on, rather than unambiguous text?
My card is missing, but there's a few fuses on this card I'd just be guessing at.

This card is from a 2008 2.0, would it be the same in my 2006 2.5si?

EDIT: why doesn't the image show? :(

My 1st E86 didn't have the card, but I just found out my current one does when I pulled Fuse 40 on Tuesday - result!

That image is of half of the card, the other half has the "Equipment - Fuse Number" list that the OP has put in his post.

I think like mine yours may be different - I'm sure mine had more fuses in use than on that image! For example I can't see one there for the electric water pump - I assume the 2.0i didn't have one.

Hello, what's the size of the fuses? I want to buy an "add a fuse/ fuse tap" and I do not know if it's a standard, mini or micro

Thanks!

Well it's very unscientific, but I reckon the plastic part is about half an inch wide.

Or you could just open the glovebox then drop it down for access to your fusebox.

I think it's a standard (the car is in the shop right now), at least the E46 are standard, and I assume they should be the same... I'll post it as soon as I get the car back

My E85 Z4 severely struggle s at cold start and I can't seem to figure out why. It only struggles when the car has been sitting over night which is over right hours. It won't start without a crank and a push of the aclerater. My assumption is that it has something to do with the fuel pump since the car starts fine when warm
