...how do you find out where's cheapest?

...how do you know who owns a plate?

Where can I find a particular plate which is listed as "enquire"

Help please?
 
DVLA is the cheapest for any plate if it's not been issued. Rest just buy it and add a margin, transfer fee and VAT.

'enquire' probably just means the plate is known to exist and the sellers will try to contact the owner.

Cheapest place - just a lot of search engine work shoud do it.
 
there is a section on autotrader which will tell you what car a plate is assigned to (if it is on a car)

as cj says, dvla is always cheapest

In Finland private plates cost over 1000 euros. it's cheaper to change your name. Our plates goes like (for example) HGR-444.
So my name would be Harry Gary Roberts :D .

I wouldn't pay more than £250 for a private plate but always find something to put on my cars. Usually to do with the car, so had S2K plate on S2000, MG plate on MGF and now UDM on the BMW.
 
I put LR**VER on my disco.......... you have to get in early on these as some of the dealerships have twigged and buy up LR**VER and RR**VER pretty quickly.

wished i bought MX51 SCO when i was in MX-5 scotland ... only 250 quid at the time.

i like zzz plates but they are not everyone's cup of tea
 
if you search on DVLA,sometimes you can find good plates on auction,which you can bid in person/phone/internet or they sometimes do online only auctions.
 
Bought S11URV in 1988 for £ 250.It's spent most of its life on my wife's cars,but now I've grabbed it back I'm going to keep hold of it. Looks great on my Z., especially in between MOT's. :D
 
My old man has 21 BMW on his Z1, which again looks great between MOT's!!! :P i was Trying to find 24 BMW funnily enough its already on a Z4 out there some where!
 
well lets say that the 2 in the 21, becomes a bit more "angular" once the MOT is passed! :evil: though it is still recongnisable as a 2 and not a Z
