ronk, do you park them i order lol

Her car and mine are on the drive and parked side by side !
The zed is normally parked in garage.

I wanted D5 E5 and F5 *** but when I came to buy F5 a well known plate seller offered it for sale, I paid a deposit only to be told that they hadn't got it! Hence the E6 on the zed.

Fair enough, could you not sell E5 and get F7?

I worked on the thought that I would always have a sequential pair to sell if i ever needed to or when I fall off the perch!

D5 and E5 would go or E5 and E6 ***

Fortunately we have the same initials!

I just bought them as I think they look better on the cars - they are never going to be worth a fortune unlike a reg i had on a old vw I my youth SYL 15 I scrapped the car and didn't keep the plate as I thought the SYL didn't look like a name!
It would have been worth a few quid now. Certainly considerably more than I paid for the car (£35 In 1966ish)

We breed Cirex cats so we have C1REX which I have to admit is a bit 8) but it's on the mini.

I do have S600BOO which was for my missus as her nickname is Boo Boo, again a bit 8)

I've seen K9 TKC

That has to be something to do with the kennel club?

Bought mine back in '94 nothing that special , just my initials - has cost a few quid over the years in transfer fees ! imo looks good on the zed - those with eagle eyes will note the illegal motif and no post code - wasn't deliberate but just in case I keep another set for MOT time.

My old Elan had an H plate so I couldn't put it on that but by chance it was H...BFG - as I'm freakishly tall it was so appropriate

I shouldn't worry about the MOT, I have a personal [to me] plate Gxx XXX on the Z4 which deliberately has no logo or postcode on it.

My first MOT for the Z4 at my local garage and it passed :) - but with a comment "you didn't have those plates on it when I MOT'd it" :D

Funny thing is that the last MOT he did for me was on my old E36 325i, which had the same plate on it, and there was no comment from him at that time! :?

I would prefer to shorten my E6 ### plate but BMW have very kindly secured the full length plate with four big self tappers. A short plate would need body repairs !

How old is the E36 as I had the same thing with my plate no probs on my old Calibra but when I took the Z in I had the comment legal plates stuck over illegal plates when I asked why was told its due to the age of the car I now just pop on a cheap set of legal plates for MOT

Given how much (£250) you can get a non-dated 5 letter prefix style one, i think i will either just flog this on or keep it on retention. Seems daft making the car look older than it is.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though

Ooohhhh

Show me some 5 digit non date plates for £250... I will buy a dozen :)

If you go to Crufts the car park is full of K9 prefix plates. A neighbour of ours, who breeds dogs, has K9 MOB.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. 325i was an M plate, so prior to the change in law, hence no problem

Don't worry, provided you don't mess around with the characters so ANPR can still read it you'll be okay. None of this 3 8RYN rubbish I saw on a Bentley the other day! :o

p.s. when I had my 1986 E30 M3 I bought her proper German pressed metal plates.

MOT? no problem, Stopped by the police for "speeding" [ahum]? No Problem. p.p.s. they let me off :driving:

Very, very old plates were A 1...
Very old plates were ABC 123A
Old plates were A123 ABC
Current plates [from 2011] are AB 12 ABC
and need to adhere to this

When I first got my Impreza UK300 I was looking for a bit of fun plate for it and found the plate I've had ever since.

Been on about 6 cars - cost a bloody fortune in transfer fees !!!!

Anyway :).

On the topic of registrations, I think mine looks better with it, even though I know they are marmite. Apart from the original reg spelling sex in the middle, it looked really cluttered:
