The plate came with the car. If I was buying a plate I'd never bother with one linked to the car as it becomes pointless when you buy something else!

Every plate with BMW in it goes for £1299 in DVLA

Any plate bought from DVLA also has VAT at 20% added to the price.

No that’s not true vat and assignment is included. I bought UK18BMW in a drunken press the button episode a year or so ago…..

Fair enough, I thought that the prices excluded VAT. I stand corrected.

Yep, I paid £250 for my Very Rusty plate and was all in vat and assignment fee.

I'm just glad my, or my wife's initials, aren't BMW as it seems to add £1,000 to any plate.

P24 HCH (for the wife) is £250 all in.

I never thought about that, but my son's initial's are TVR so was not easy to find a plate without being an absolute fortune :lol:
