I think most people would agree that having a private plate on your car increases the beauty of the it. So i wa just wondering how many of us have them on our zeds, what they are and what relevence they have i.e initials etc. Postings pics would be cool.
I have E11 PNK as my name is Elliott Pink and I have just brought 21 EP for £2500 bargain!

A few posts on here about private plates also.

I have N1K NS but not yet fitted it to the Z.

I was wondering whether to order 'cut down' plates or not... since i usually have 2 large spaces of blank numberplate each side of my reg.

The only thing stopping me is the full size number plate holder on my front bumper. What has everyone else with a cut down plate done about this? :?

Ive been looking for ages for one but cant find one i like, why did my parents call me Chris. Everything decent with BMW is taken and you cant use Z's.

I really like my mates he had on his 3 series... WE51EYS

Elliot your surname is awesome

I don't have a private reg yet. I've been looking to get one though, and after looking for ages i've only found 1 that i like. F1 UCY, because obviously my name is Lucy, so i'm wanting one with 1UCY in it, and F1 UCY is the only one available that has this. So i'm thinking of buying it, the only thing is i'm not keen on the F  Suppose i can't pick and choose what letter i want at the front though seeing as it's the only one there is!

I have X1 TDM.

Initially had it done so it spelt TOM but they I decided I hated plates without the proper font.

So now I have it as X1 TDM. Still looks good IMO and I really like the look of the x1 too.

The number plate cant start with a Z but can be in the last 3 digits.

So Z4 BMW for example isnt available :)

Yes but a private plate will last a lot longer than a holiday and may also increase in value!

All you get for a holiday is some photos and maybe a video that nobody (including you) will ever want to watch again! :P

Yes I did cut it down for neatness. I didn't want all that while plate spoiling the lines.

I simply worked out the legal minimum for 5 digits that came out at 14" and chopped around 4" out of the middle. I used the spare as reinforcement and plastic welded it to the rear. Reprofiled it slightly as I only had a prefacelift to hand and did it at a time I changed the front end so there were no holes from the old mounting showing.

The search function on this site works well! :P

Thanks Lucy  but being a guy you can imagine its not that great. You should definately take the plunge and get the F1 UCY mind you it will look its trying to spell something ''FIUCY'' unless you space it out. Why not just get something with your initials.

Nice plate Tommo :)

That's a really cool plate.

I've had M5 EEW for 5 years and it's been on 5 different cars but the zed is by far the best car it's ever been on.
