Tae a virus



Twa months ago, we didna ken,
yer name or ocht aboot ye
But lots of things have changed since then, I really must salute ye



Yer spreading rate is quite intense,

yer feeding like a gannet

Disruption caused, is so immense,

ye’ve shaken oor wee planet.



Corona used tae be a beer,

they garnished it wae limes

But noo it’s filled us awe wae fear

These days, are scary times.



Nae shakin hawns, or peckin lips,

it’s whit they awe advise

But scrub them weel, richt tae the tips, that’s how we’ll awe survive



Just stay inside , the hoose, ye bide

Nae sneakin oot for strolls

Just check the lavvy every hoor

And stock-take, your, loo rolls



Our holidays have been pit aff

Noo that’s the Jet2 patter

Pit oan yer thermals, have a laugh

And paddle ‘ doon the waater ‘



Canary isles, no for a while

Nae need for suntan cream

And awe because o this wee bug

We ken tae be..19



The boredom surely will set in,

But have a read, or doodle

Or plan yer menu for the month

Wi 95 pot noodles.



When these run oot, just look aboot

A change, it would be nice

We’ve beans and pasta By the ton

and twenty stane o rice.



So dinny think yell wipe us oot

Aye true, a few have died

Bubonic, bird flu, and Tb

They came, they left, they tried



Ye might be gallus noo ma freen

As ye jump fae cup tae cup

But when we get oor vaccine made

Yer number will be up.

I did a similar trip back in May 2008 while Mrs Tidy and I were still together and loved it.

But we had much longer and I knew she wouldn't want to do mega-miles every day so our first stop was a night in Duns, but the Jim Clark Museum wasn't open. :(

Then we had a couple of nights in Edinburgh to enjoy it properly, but with the Museum closed we could have easily skipped the night in Duns.

Then we went further East to Dundee and up around the coast through Aberdeen as the OH decided she wanted to visit Elgin after watching some property programme on TV!

And I had to visit Muir-of-Ord as my Dad was born there.

We also had 2 nights in Oban, so went to the Isle of Skye on the ferry then came back over the bridge.

Found some fantastic roads and stunning scenery - I'd love to do something similar in my Z4.

My biggest surprise was that Mrs Tidy had never been to Scotland before, as being a Scouser she lived much nearer than I ever did. :laugh:

I hope you can get it re-arranged Jembo. :thumbsup:

If it was ever true that charlie has this virus then he should be deported from Scotland and never have been allowed a test for the virus, should never have travelled and was completely irresponsible.

When the workers on the front line aren't getting tested in the Scottish NHS or English NHS then there's no reason to test a man who purely by his luck at birth is in line to a hereditary title that means very little to anyone with half a brain.

Harry Windsor and the half black ex catholic American divorcee actress had the right idea and gtfo. But then he's only half royal right?

The French had the right idea.

skelters, I too have zero time for the Royals (admittedly they're even more of a figurehead here than where you are), but what was the point of bringing up Meghan's colour? Is it relevant if she's black, half-black, yellow or white?
Otherwise, agree with your sentiments.
 
I like the Royals and hope Charles gets his chance at being the King, I think he will make a good King.
The Queen is a huge draw for the UK, the world love her and the pomp that goes with her. Look at the crowds of tourists that flock to see them.
My wife's family mainly live in Royal Dee side and they are also loved up there as they bring plenty of tourists to the area.

I note that he opened the hospital from his “Home” in Scotland - you try moving to your holiday home at this time! But hey ! We’re all in this together they keep telling us.

Great Britain? You mean the island made up of Scotland, England and Wales? Of course some people take Great Britain to mean the current UK and include the occupied counties in Ireland. That is, of course, a mistake.

We'll be a republic soon enough.

Didn't watch Brenda last night. I'll assume she's opening up a few of her public funded houses for the homeless and donating a few million to the underfunded NHS? Looks like extra money will be required very quickly to get those

Did she mention Phil the Greek? Heard he died in January but they're keeping him on ice until this is over.

What about Andy? Handed him over to yanks yet?

Or Charlie? Did she apologise for her unemployed son taking a trip to Scotland and spreading the virus? He used to hang about with Jimmy Savile you know.
