You seem a little upset by this situation, what would be your solution to the issue that we all are facing now norrth and south .skelters said:A royal Squirrel to divert attention from the complete disaster that the English elected Tories are making of everything they touch.
Herd Immunity
Not getting ventilators along with the EU
Testing for the virus
Checks at airports

The self employed
etc.

If it was ever true that charlie has this virus then he should be deported from Scotland and never have been allowed a test for the virus, should never have travelled and was completely irresponsible.
When the workers on the front line aren't getting tested in the Scottish NHS or English NHS then there's no reason to test a man who purely by his luck at birth is in line to a hereditary title that means very little to anyone with half a brain.
Harry Windsor and the half black ex catholic American divorcee actress had the right idea and gtfo. But then he's only half royal right?
The French had the right idea.
God Save the German Queen remember. She's better than you!

Jembo[/ref], if that’s your genuine route for a future run I’m going to make a small suggestion for you too look at.
Where the first mention of A82 is you’ve just arrived at Tarbet at the top of Loch Lomond, instead of following your route take a left there onto the A83. It will take you to Inveraray the scenery between these two points is amazing just DON’T take advantage of the couple of miles straights at the Rest and Be Thankful unless you can see for definite that there’s nothing in the lay-bys.olice:
Once you reach Inveraray sat nav would take you right directly to Oban, don’t do that go through the town and head for Lochgilphead, where I am, another 24 miles of twisty stuff with plenty of places to overtake. When you reach Lochgilphead then head towards Oban. That 40 miles regularly appears in the top 10 motorbike rides in Britain and is fantastic in the Z4. It starts 15 seconds from my front door![]()
Once in Oban you’ve then another 45 miles to Fort William were you will rejoin your original route the dot below the one where you turn off left to the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Again another 10/15 minute detour at the viaduct. Instead of turning back at that point if you carry on you will reach the small villages of Arisaig and Morar, possibly the most beautiful beaches in the country. Locally just referred to as White Sands. May be zero interest but you can actually get a ferry to Skye from there if you didn’t fancy repeating the previous days drive.
From Inveraray to Lochgilphead is a cracking road, used to do it often on the bikes and was definately a favourite. Used stop at the Firnace tea room for lunch quite often too.Argyll Andy said:[ref]Jembo said:Phew.. lucky escape then as had planned a Scottish road trip.which was supposed to start today

then off on that loop. Always headed to Oban first so I could have the Inveraray to Lochgilphead bit as my final blast home. Never been in that tea room, so close to home always just drive past it.Jembo said:Argyll Andy said:[ref]Jembo said:Phew.. lucky escape then as had planned a Scottish road trip.which was supposed to start today

Greatly appreciated - genuine trip - plan was to show her Scotland quickly then cone back for the bits she liked best
I didn’t take the ‘left’ as you suggested as was too much driving for the Mrs... these were where we planned to stay

I get that, it does add a couple of hrs on, maybe at some point you’ll get over that way.
As for accommodation, the guest house at Luss gets cracking reviews. Don’t know if they still do it but the guy that owns it does sea plane tours as it’s on the banks of Loch Lomond. Been in the Drumnadrocit one but only visiting a friend who was staying there, what we saw it seemed really nice and they rated it. When we’re up that way we stay in the Kingsmill in Inverness, cracking hotel, good parking. Can’t comment on any of the rest unfortunately.
Done most of the roads all around that area, enjoyed going to Crinan as well one day.Argyll Andy said:Nictrix said:From Inveraray to Lochgilphead is a cracking road, used to do it often on the bikes and was definately a favourite. Did you ever carry on to Oban an back down to Inveraray? When I had my fireblade that was my Sunday morning sorted. Roll the bike out the shed and down the street before I started it so theMrs didn’t know I was awaythen off on that loop. Always headed to Oban first so I could have the Inveraray to Lochgilphead bit as my final blast home. Never been in that tea room, so close to home always just drive past it.
