So it looks normal sort from the fact it looks like a 18i engine not a 20i..
I find it hard to believe BMW put the wrong badges on. It could happen, though, I suppose.

Mine didn’t come with any badges from new, the dealer i purchased it from had it advertised as an 18i. It was only after getting it tested on a dyno that i knew which model i actually had!
The exact opposite of our friends experience here :?

OR maybe they had the same cheap dyno as the one above, which was having a generous day and you have a lowly 18i after all? Imagine the shame! :poke: :D

Verified after receiving the V5 several weeks later

Fair enough Rod. I bow to your "2". :D All remapped and at the same power now, though. :D

Hi all - I'm looking to get my N20 engine remapped and have had these guys suggested.
Has anyone any experience with them ?

Haven't used that one, but with Power tune being a Franchise, similar to Celtic tuning, I would imagine their maps would be standard across the country.

As such, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Power tune map, having used it on various turbo cars over the years, and always found their tunes to be good and giving smooth, decent Power gains
Just my opinion, from experience

Normally there is a lack of enough data so you end up with conjecture…

However with such bounteous data it’s difficult to come to any other conclusions than:

1) it’s 18i
2) it’s a 20i that somebody loaded a 18i map into it
3) Somebody fitted a 18i DME to a 20i
4) Somebody fitted a 18i engine to a 20i chassis

I am sure it is a 20i, with it’s original engine on it.
DME screws look original/untouched.
So, either somebody loaded 18i map on it, or it really detunes because of 91-92 oct fuel.

Well as you say it’s a LHD 20i…

Problem with these cars is you never know who / what has been twiddled with..

I had a remap that went wrong from a reputable supplier so these things do happen..

The good news is that wherever you came from you ended up in a good place..
