Potholes in Britain.

Lucky you, our street is like a quarry road and impossible to drive faster than 20 mph in the Zed. Saves the council money on speed humps;)

Perhaps you have been banned from having a poking stick by the Guvnor. ;) Anyway here's another one for you:poke:.

There are about 20 potholes in the half a mile of my road leading up to my house. Also a section where 70% of the entire width of the road is missing, so probably too severe to even count as a pothole?

Been like that for at least a year since I moved in. This week they spent 20 minutes throwing a bit of tarmac into about 6 of the potholes, which was nice.

Still, it's not like I pay much tax so I can't really complain... :tumbleweed:

Our 'estate' is being completely resurfaced for about the 5th time in 10 years...although they've never actually managed to complete the job in any of the previous 4 attempts as the company contracted to do the job tends to get half-way through before buggering off and going bankrupt.

We've got some placed where the speed bumps were never reinstated; some where speed bumps were removed and a 2" lip remains cut into the surrounding road surface; some where they've removed the old road surface and put new kerbs & drains in...but never put the new road surface on so the grids stick up 2-4" and the kerbs are very high (and water doesn't drain); and we've got some parts where another company has come in and removed the 'new' road surface that was laid by the previous company only to go bust before they've got the re-laying any further than the previous attempt.

I know there's a flurry of activity by lots of councils at the moment, but that only because of 2 reasons: 1) local election; 2) government clawing back road repair budgets not spent specifically on road repair.

We've got them stretching the whole width of 2 lanes near us, literally no way to avoid them. Have reported the one, got fixed but it looked like Stevie wonder had done the repair.

We have one almost across a roundabout on the way to Paignton, someone, recently using a spray can wrote 'repair this'.

That’s why I avoid driving to Paignton mate.
It’s like the surface of the moon.
Still it may keep the fat northerners that seem to frequent Paignton, away.
Totnes ain’t much better though Mike, but we have blokes in dresses instead of fat Northerners.😂🤷‍♀️

John, you just need to add it the old-fashioned way, as in colonpokecolon and it works.

Until recently the Newton Abbot road to Totnes was appalling, now it’s been resurfaced it’s lovely. In parts.

@john-e89 I can neither confirm or deny that viscous accusation :poke:

@buzyg, no way, we've been here eight years and we are almost finished the inside, just the main bedroom, ensuite and dressing room to go.

No pot holes in Lincolnshire. We have a Reform UK led Council and Mayor so they have sorted every single one.
