Potholes in Britain.

We all moan about them, this chart came today from Howdens Insurance Company. And we in Devon are the worse place to own a Z4 :mad: Even Cornwall is better off than us :poke:

No arguments from here in Cornwall. Bought a new wheel for my Mazda2 last year, after hitting a small mineshaft, or so it felt, on one of the roads off Dartmoor.

It could have something to do with the average age of the residents though Mikey, not the number of potholes.
Retired folk with little else to do than contact the Council and complain about something?

Not saying it is, but it could skew the results.

Also.....I thought Howdens sold cheap, crap kitchens. Not insurance. ;)
 
I reported one on 16 February and it got fixed on 17 March, as well as a couple of smaller ones on the same stretch of road.

The problem with a lot of them is that they're in places where you can't easily get a photo of them!

That photo shows the problem, they repair a hole and then other holes appear around it. Surely it would be better in the long run to do a larger area.

How can you not get a photo of them Mr Tidy…?

Get out, stand over the thing and take a photo….look, you’ve already done it, don’t you remember…? 🫵😬

An A road in rush hour I get but there are PLENTY to choose from….🫵

Well that's the problem, there are some horrors on the approach to a roundabout on the A331 where it is joined by a slip-road off the M3 but there's no way I'm going to stand there to get a photo!

Same issue on a traffic-light controlled junction on the A329 as there is nowhere safe to put the car - or me.

The one I got sorted was on a village road when I was walking past.

Excuse me, being a retired old fogey, I'm onto my local Council daily 🙂

Well some good news, my local street is being completely resurfaced, new kerb stones, pavement and drains :thumbsup:
