SNOWDROPS! I thought you were called barrier technicians! On a serious note I currently work with some ex and still serving police at Wyton.
That’s no joke  it’s exactly what it involved, along with walking the perimeter fence ! After discharge I served Her Majesty a second time and did 30 years on the Force, been happily retired now for two years :D

Well as a RAF Techie I obviously mentioned various things at home not realising who was listening............... until the day No.2 son came home late from school after serving a detention. Turns out one of the new teachers used to be a RAF Police dog-handler. 'Oh I see' says the 12-year-old. 'So you had a brain on chain?'.
Same son has just passed 4 years as an Engines/Airframes techie on Typhoons at Coningsby, so it didn't put him off at all. Not sure his thoughts on the RAFP have changed much though.

It was mind numbingly boring at the best of times, 1 year 177 days and I PVR’d

Parked outside a wine shop in France. The big bottle is a advertisement for a local aperitif made from walnuts of which there are plenty in this region. The roof is up as space was needed for a couple of cases of wine. A canicule is forecast for the next 4 days or so with temperatures of 35 degrees and over! 😎 The chilled white will go down well.

Thank you John. It is a lovely spot but usually overrun with visitors this time of year. I got there just at the right time of evening and pretty much had the place to myself for a while.

Re the photo - sorted the blown sky in the edited version in the Aug photo comp. 🙂

Stunning view.

Sadly when I was there in 2008 with Mrs Tidy it was in a 123d so I left the car out of shot - but also the bins!

The bins were slightly unfortunate

I got another shot sans Z (as the car park was rammed), and sans bins on the way back down :)

(Funnily enough I have also been there in a 123d and also not taken a photo!)

Spotted the photographer, in the bush on the side of the road, earlier this year and tracked him down on Facebook. He was at it again recently, on The Old Pacific Highway between Cowan and Mooney Mooney, New South Wales, Australia. Keen photographer incorporating a hobby into a business. ‘Shot by Roth’ taking action shots along this favoured bit of road for motorcyclists and drivers taking their weekend cars for an airing.
