Met up with a mate briefly for the first time since lockdown for a quick blast. Christ that thing sits flat through quick corners.

ah, I still miss my old Z4, despite the new one.

I can fully understand why. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, even though that’s not been much recently.

A day trip to places like this is exactly why I bought it :driving:

Your replacement still looks fantastic

Those pics really brought back Some memories for me. I recall being at RAF Swinderby in Lincs back in the 1980’s doing basic training, my flight known as “9 Shite” by the training staff was stopped from going home on a rare weekend off as our drill wasn’t up to scratch and we were made to clean a Lightening which is featured in your photo, who knows maybe the same aircraft ?

Hey mate, when exactly were you there? I was April/May 82 in 10 Flt. 9 Flt were going through same time as there were 70-odd of us Airframe/Engine Apprentices all joining.

A bit later mate, April / May 1987, I was one of a few Snowdrops and the PTI’s gave us hell as as you can imagine, quite a lot of Mechies and Techies on the intake, the majority of the lads were Jocks and I came home with a Scottish accent after 6 weeks

Went past Swinderby a while back. Couldn't recognise any of it. Bit sad really. Only 6 weeks of my life, but seemed much longer and has always stuck with me.

Big day trip from Sydney to Bathurst, New South Wales, and return, after a few laps of Mt Panorama circuit.

Same here, 6 hard weeks of beastings but I only have fond memories :)

SNOWDROPS! I thought you were called barrier technicians! On a serious note I currently work with some ex and still serving police at Wyton.
