No - we are driving around Wester Ross with Kinlochewe as a base, although I believe some of the roads are included in the NC500

Unbeknown to me at the time, I drove about a third of the NC500 back in 86, a year after I got married, in my wife's 1ltr Vauxhall Nova..that was a beast!

Turns out we are on part of the NC500 - the bottom left Wester Ross loop:

Unbeknown to me at the time, I drove about a third of the NC500 back in 86, a year after I got married, in my wife's 1ltr Vauxhall Nova..that was a beast!

Looking at the map as you say, if you are traveling around the coast of Scotland there are so few A Roads that you are travelling parts of the NC500 whether you know it or not. We are already planning next year's Scotland trip, possibly a fortnight with the second week higher up, so taking in the second half of the NC500 if travelling clockwise

Lovely! I remember you had to get out of the way of the sheep trucks, s they stopped for nobody on the major roads...I sat major..they were single track with passing places! You had to judge whether you'd make the next passing place before the truck would come thundering through! Epic scenery and epic roads! It's on the list!
