Poorly 35i (Now Fixed)(sort of)

That's good news

At a main dealer I dare say you could be looking at £2000+ for pump and injectors

So the car is back on the drive.

I paid one excess for both the water pump and injector replacement.

A silver lining to an otherwise black cloud week.

Coincidentally a couple of new parts for a few updates on the car have started to arrive. The orange top section was from a wreckers, got it half price of their original ad which was positive. The lower diffuser part in black is brand new oem and got that 80% off so also good. I'll not be fitting the Le Creuset butter dish tho...

Plan is to wrap the orange section, carbon fibre to match other low-key accents on the car. Just need to get the top section at a good price now.

Then I'll move on to the front and also get the wheels refurbed (313's in shadow chrome?).

Back to normal, smooth. Tomorrow's cold start will be the real difference.

Well are we talking a couple hundred or into the ks?

Just had a look on bimmerforums with a guy that had the same issue and was quoted $5600 in the us for a cracked transmission pan crack and a valve cover :? :o

That sounds insane.

Can I suggest that you have it paint dipped. I had my lower section carbon fibre dipped along with the silver roll hoops. No seams or joins.

Hopefully that’s sorted the issues out, seems really bad luck to have both problems strike at the same time

Hi Tom....my Injectors would of been £3000 at the dealers if I didn't have warranty. That included a new Footwell module as well.

Thanks for the insight guys! Pretty large difference in price!

You should notice a difference with the new injectors installed. My MPG increased and engine was much smoother.

Great to read it's back on the drive and running smooth. Some scary sums mentioned. Think I'll be sticking with the MR a good while.

Yea cause the S54 Zs don't melt wallets do they  :D bearing shells ? cams + followers ? Ins2 ? discs + pads ?

Let’s face it... none of these cars are a sensible choice.

She’s back with me and better than ever, that’s what matters to me.

Now just to deal with that annoying RTA :(
