Having a go at the weekend. Any prep tips, or just spray it on and see what happens?!?

What are you coating?

Grills and possible silver trim on steering wheel. Using matt finish.

Wondered if I need a super fine sandpaper to give a key on the surface, undercoat or just use and alcohol wipe to clean the surface properly?

Nope didn't key mine. Just lots of thin layers. Been perfectly fine since.
I used satin black though

Ditto - cleaning wipe and make sure it's dry before you start. Then 5-6 thin coats. The first couple will hardly show any colour but don't worry it comes.

I did my grills with Plastidip and they are holding up fine. Steering wheel spokes didn't last.

I will be interested to see if Plastikote is any different.
