Picking up the beast tomorrow

My steering is so planted, even at 150 over the weekend in Germany, the steering was very controlled as was the car. Even under hard braking.....

Wish I could remember the name of the guy off the forum that had this issue too - he changed tyres too etc and then steering columns....

I had a similar feeling when I first got my 35is. It feels sort of 'floaty' and seems to need constant steering corrections. I felt like a learner trying to keep in a lane. I also know what you mean by 'the twist' - it seems to happen when you floor it and seem to need opposite lock on whilst going in a straight line.

(My car is the same spec as yours (19" 326 - same colour too!)

I recently replaced my rear tyres (Bridgestones - the same as fitted new) and the same sensation that I had when it was new came back. 600 miles later it feels normal again. It is definitely less 'nervous' in Sport and Sport+.

So, either I got used to the 'characteristic', it's the tyres or we both have something broken! It hasn't spoiled me enjoying the car 100% When you get used to it, you can give it a good thrashing. Hence me needing new rears....

PS. I've noticed that the paddles are now -/+ rather than the ones I have.

I think Chutters is on the money, a combination of the car bedding down and me learning to handle it is probably in order. I went to Whitby today and the roads were a lot drier and I've been checking things a lot more closely, it's a very precise drive despite the floaty feel. One thing for sure is it takes more driving and focus than anything else i've had.

thought I should post back on the handling remarks I made when I'd picked it up. It just needed bedding down along with me... now flying like a dream, 3,500 miles now on and I was away for all of October... I need a few more months away otherwise the 15k per year is getting shot to bits :evil:
 
i only have the 23i but it is the M Sport and has the same wheels
For me the car handled really bad untill i changed the springs and it made a massive difference
Made the ride harder but the car now felt planted instead of floating around.

I have a 318 MSport as well and it was a far better handling car untill i changed the springs

I've had that in the other Z's on occasion but not in this yet, the front just keeps going straight, is that what you mean? I had a go on snake pass with the comp off last week, early doors enroute to Manchester.... had plenty of back end loss, wasn't really worrying about the front! :driving:

Going to be difficult to keep it looking like it does in the showroom though!
