Personally I love the Aeros, I think they give the car stance and purpose, but equally the cars look great without them. Here’s a picture of mine, taken tonight with the setting sun glinting off the Aeros.

Sweet mother of Zeus that Sepang is beautiful! Even better being in God's own country. I need to see this in person sometime please! :)

Hopefully we will meet up sometime. Thanks for the nice comments about my ‘brown’ car🤣 In the sun the colour really shines, this picture was taken in the setting sun which gives a lovely effect on the Sepang Bronze, the photography comes easy then.

To avoid derailing someone's Wanted advert any further I thought it might be better to start a new thread.

So I'll start of with a photo of mine with the standard sill covers.

Then one with Aeros fitted to show how much better they look!

Z4m came with them luckily and bought a second hand set for a fraction of what they cost now for my old titan, both look great and I couldn't imagine having a zed without them 2017-09-13_09-49-39.jpg20210403_170153.jpg

Imola red m is overly to especially with those wheels :D

Excellent photo,Sepang really does pop in the sun,as you say. Seen a few of these, and Roadsters too,in the flesh, and they do look amazing.

Looking great Mr Tidy, and everyone else

I really need to get around to installing mine now they’ve finally been painted

Opinions please- the new car has front, rear and aero sills, which are growing on me (despite being a detractor before owning!)

BUT

What are we saying about the aero boot spoiler?

Too much or too cool for school?

Your new car will look great once you have worked your magic on it with the full aero kit.

Personally I think the aero boot spoiler would finish the look off really well, but all that aero kit is going to be nearly 50% of the value of the car!

Yeah- I kind of agree you know

I spotted one on fleabay- but think I’m going to let it pass

Spending a small fortune sorting the body!

I think yes to the boot spoiler! Not that I am biased or anything...

But genuinely, I think it helps with the look of the car when the rest of the aero kit is fitted. Without it, the look is incomplete IMO. Following your Project Aero progress btw, love the look of this car!

Thank Dan! Appreciate the view!

Now Dan's got me thinking...

How is the spoiler attached? Just adhesive?

And do you need to change the spring sensitivity on the boot?

Yup, adhesive. BMW used this one from factory (or dealer if it was fitted after): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265214757665. I am sure a decent 3M adhesive (for the correct material application) would also do just as well.

I do remember seeing a guy on Youtube drilling his boot lid and using screws (it doesn't look/feel the right way to do it!) Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szcgU80Xq54

Sorry for the thread hijack! Here is another photo of my aero to make up for it :D

Damn I like that

I am now converted to the whole Aero thing

One of the first mods I did to my Z4MC, and one of the first M's with the aero sills, fitted back in April 2007.

And a more recent image, because why not...

I don't get it?
Why would you take a car with such flowing curves and slap a dirty great straight edge down the side of it.

Disclaimer: I understand I may be in a minority here.

I'm with you on this one. The original lines look more cohesive and less fussy. Appreciate everyone has there own taste though, so it's all good. 👍

TigerSeal and 3M. Don’t drill it there’s no need.
The 3M holds it in place while the tigerseal sets as the spoiler is unbalanced and will slip off your soon to be shined paintwork.
£11 from Halfords. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-and-body-repair/fillers-and-preparation/tigerseal-black-310ml-140198.html
