Phones that are compatible/incompatible with BMW Bluetooth

I should say, I don't get SMS on my iphone, should I?

Not that it bothers me to be honest!

Breaker, have you asked Bimmernav if they can get you a cradle for the KRZR? May require a modded eject box?
Yes I have asked and they don't do a cradle for the K1. Works just fine having the phone in my pocket. Even worked well with the phone in a bag in the rear boot/trunk!

the module is in the boot so the phone should work fine in the boot :driving:

It's more dependant upon where the bluetooth antennae is. The standard mounting point is on the housing for the SatNav/DVD high up between the seats. In reality the range is so great they will work anywhere in or near the car. Mine even picks up the phone in the house when the car is sat in the drive some distance off. :)

My bluetooth doesn't work at the moment, but it still pairs. I had to make a call earlier, and had to run about 20 feet from the car to disconnect the bluetooth!

It pairs, and I used to be able to use it for the speaker/mic, I still had to answer/dial on the phone though. Now it says it has answered the call, but I get no sound through the car or headset.

Hi

Just looking at the compatable phone listing. My SonyEricsson K800I does not have SMS but otherwise fully compatable. Just wondered if any other forum members have the same problem?

Just got the new Samsung Tocco phone and it works well with the OEM bluetooth. Still no texts though.

Great touch screen phone also! Saves having to get an iPhone and change to O2!! :D

The BMW phone compatibility list indicates limited compatibilty with N95 phones, and I'm led to believe, most of the "N" series. My N95 would "pair" enabling the receipt of incoming calls, but would not allow my contacts to be "exported" to the car. After a little research and much tinkering I've managed to add all my contacts to the car database. Should anyone else be having problems adding "phonebook contacts" to the car when "pairing" Nokia "N" series phones, this is the solution that worked for me.

1. Delete all Z4 pairings on phone, and any N95 pairings from the car

2. Reset phone by turning phone OFF and ON again

3. Download Nokia 810 Contact Download Application.

DL 810 here-> http://europe.nokia.com/get-support...ia-810/software

4. Install the app to your phone using Nokia PC Suite and ignore any messages saying it's not compatible.

5. Select new app on phone and configure to always start on phone start

6. Turn off phone, go to car,

7. Turn on ignition, turn on phone

8. Commence bluetooth pairing as per the handbook, and complete the pairing, enter pin and accept, leave ignition key in position one (the downloaded app left still running on your phone)

9. Go to "Contacts", "Mark All" or whatever you wish, then "options" . . . ."send business card" . . . .via "bluetooth", hey presto "success" turn off ignition, turn back on, press RT button to view your contacts and smile contendedly to oneself : )

(Credit for most of the procedure is due to unknown persons on other obscure BMW forums . . .well done to them and thanks)

My new Nokia 6600i doesn;t work properly, constantly dropping and when you get a call the car just carries on ringing even though the phone is "answered"...... Old E66 works a treat tho, so back to the old phone.....

Nokia 6310i works on 2003 model, displays SIM directory. So does SPV 3100

The issue I have (as I understand it) is that there are few (if any) snap in adapters for modern 3g phones that fit my 2003 Zed. For instance, the E71 snap in does not fit my cradle. The previous owner had a Nokia 6310i, but this is not 3g capable. I am reduced to call forwarding from my "Three" E71 to the "Orange" 6310i. A bit of a faff forwarding on, forwarding off.....on.....off.....each time you get in or leave the car............aaargh! Of course I could just leave the phone on the seat or whatever, but I wanted it out of the way, charging in the cradle supplied between the seats

My 2007 had same problem the box the snap in cradle fits into was narrower than the iPhone 3G let alone a snap in
Solution you buy a new wider eject box that the later, well certainly the iPhone snap in cradle, fits.New box fits into base happily
obviously

Morning all,

Has anyone had any luck with an iPhone 3GS running the newest software in a 2004 Z4?...

I can get the phone and car to pair, it accepts the code etc and comes up succeded but then constantly connects and disconnects... the car continues to show no phone paired...

HELP!? will BMW still offer software updates on my year car?

D

I have a similar problem with mine, Have tried pairing my 3gs iphone and it seems to work but the nav screen just displays "PLEASE WAIT" for ages and it does not seem to say pairing succeeded!

thanks all. Seems to work okay apart from I can't use the button on the steering wheel to bring calls up and also not all of my contacts are showing up.
That said the sound quality is really terrible, so I am not sure how often I want to use it.

I sound like I am taking in a can! Any other complaints for quality?
