Hi, Can anyone recommend a phone holder that either sticks to the windscreen or fits somewhere else? Needs to hold a Samsung Galaxy s* size of phone.
Thanks.

I use this with an iPhone +
Magnet fits between case and phone, or can stick to the back of the phone.

I use this one from Amazon, but that's mainly because I have wireless charging. It clips onto the centre vent and doesn't obscure the heater controls (in the photo it's on the middle slat which can obscure them a little but I've since raised it up to the top one) I also have a hidden USB port in the dashtop cubby hole.

I use this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Humixx-Adj...7504793&sr=8-6&keywords=magnetic+phone+holder
Its stuck to the silver trim just to the left of the centre vents - I'll take a picture shortly.

I chose a magnetic type as its unobtrusive when not in use. I find some of the plastic ones that 'cradle' your phone a bit ugly.
Also the ones that clip to the vets can be a bit wobbly.
The only downside is you have to stick a very slim disk to the back of your phone or case.

The humix one I've linked to has a very strong magnet. You can almost throw your phone at the mount and it will stick!
Its obviously very quick to mount/unmount the phone, you can pretty much do it without looking.

Why, in a convertible car, would you make it so easy for some low-life to reach into your car at traffic lights and steal your mobile and be off on their bike within a second?

If they don't mind eating the windscreen pillar as I grab their arm, pull hard and smash their face into it!!

Do you think you'll have time to do that? One second it'll be there the next gone and they'll be off into the crowd on their bike with you at the traffic lights wondering what just happened.....

Have you ever tried to lean into the car to the centre of the dash? Even more so if you have the windows up! Not a chance!!

Dave, they open the passenger door - or smash the window - and are in and out in a second. I don't want to go on, just making people aware of the dangers of having expensive valuables being displayed prominently on one of those phone holders. I've had mates been done over like this and how "tough" the driver is has nothing to do with it; these thieves are like lightning.

I'm playing with you. I appreciate what you are saying. Yes it is a concern, but I'm not running my life worrying constantly if some low-life piece of scum is going to nick my phone. I am cautious of my surroundings while driving especially in certain areas as you never know.

It's a shame that all phones aren't built like this one

It's a good point though, especially if you're in an area with lots of lights and people and not just enjoying the open road!

That happened to me some years ago, I was sitting in traffic with my girlfriend, and this Italian guy on a scooter stopped next to the car and within seconds, she was gone, sitting on the back of the scooter. Never saw her again. So, don't leave your mobile on the dashboard, you just never know.
