Hello everyone! I have been a lurker for awhile and now its time to join the party! Heres the link to the little intro about me! Not great reading but your welcome to have a nose.

Onto my recent purchase. As says in above please dont be a hater on the 2.0 it really does tick all the boxes of what im looking for in a current car! :) Been their done the BHP evolution. . 100 - 200 - 300 although only maxed out at circa 350. Anyway I digress. . .

The new toy is a 2007 2.0 sport. . . . in. . (if you hadn't already guessed by the title) PHOENIX YELLOW!! :D my wife and I were wanting a sterling grey, silver or black which are all stonking colours. . but when I saw this just caught me eye! Wife wasn't overly impressed but hey been married 7 years now so she will get over it! As its the sport (please correct me if I get this wrong still learning!) has the nice chunkier M steering wheel, and the nicer more hugging seats. Believe the sport sits a little lower? Although we shall see how she sits on the new wheels as and when. Other than that it is standard. Going to be keeping it fairly simple with a few subtle changes for the time being. Such as. .

- stubby
- carbon BMW badges (think black carbon and the phoenix yellow will go quite nicely?)
- carbon wrap interior trim
- debage (Z4 / 2.0)
- aero skirts
- black/carbon kidneys
- coilovers or springs which ever is deemed needed once new rims on
- rims. . fancy either BBS reps - LM or CH-R or CSL as although done think in gun metal/black would look great.
- 108's refurbed for winter use

As for other bits see how it goes. Anyway know these threads are pointless without pics. . . so please be nice as not had time to give her a proper clean or take decent pictures with my DSLR. Will come eventually so these phone pictures will hopefully do for time being. .

Also the car itself hasn't had a good clean yet. . . but the bloomingly disgusting engine has had a pre good wash wash.

So went from this. . .

To this . . .

Will still need to be cleaned again and dressed and sealed.

Anyway thats it for the time being will update when I get my camera out and mods start to slowly filter through. So any comments, words of wisdom or dont do this or you need to definitely do that im all ears! :)

I love Phoenix Yellow, tell your wife if she drives it on her own she will get so much attention :D

Glad you got to work under the bonnet  that was nasty .
Car looks terrific , not sure it would have been on 108,s as standard fayre so previous owners have done you a favour 8)
Welcome to all things Z , great cars/great forum

Welcome, That is a beauty! You are correct about the seats and the steering wheel. Mine is the same model/engine and also came from the factory with corroded 108's :x

Can I throw a spanner in the workings of your mod list and say that by far the mod that will improve the enjoyment/feel of driving the car is the ZHP gear knob? Might not sound like much but grabbing at a firmly padded chunky bit of leather feels so much better than the plastic tat BMW supply with the car.

Hope you have deep pockets, once you start down the path of "subtle" mods on a Z, you won't be able to stop!

Thanks for the welcome and kind words guys! Was unsure if the colour was admired or shun upon. Still I like to be slightly different! Ooo'er!

Ben Cole - think it used to live in the desert! Well its one owner car but think they lived on a farm with the crud I found in the boot and other crevasses! Still dont believe the engine bay had been touched cleaning wise in all of its life. . . she will soon be pampered like she deserves! :)

Stlymch - that is also on my list to do just not listed above. More than likely be one of the first changes. Still good shout!

It's certainly a bold colour I'll give you that. I think it'd benefit 50x over from a machine polish, wheel refurb, tyre shine, and some fancy photos too ;)

You've definitely picked up a cracking spec though, sports seats and //M multifunction steering wheel.

Love the colour in the sun.... Looks much better in the flesh PY too.

Welcome Scotty. Love the colour. A friend of mine had a z3M Coupe in that colour and it was stunning

Welcome Scotty,

You've chosen the best colour of all! 8) It might be just the photos but the negative camber looks excessive all round.

Thanks again guys! It definitely looks better in the flesh. Plus from what I can see in the darker, duller days wont look to out of place yet when the sun shines the colour really shows through!

Exdos - thanks like the look off you avatar! Very nice! Camber looks worse than it is as parked on quite a cambered road and driver side is a drop to grass/gravel so not sitting true as such. Still one the wheels and suspension are sourced will all get dialled in and checked.

Think il need to crack the cleaning gear, DA, DSLR, lighting and tripod out this weekend. . . see what I can manage!! :) Although excuse the few imperfections it will all be getting sorted but likely wont be till end of the year.

Scotty

Many thanks again!!

Jonny Essex - Thanks for the comment. Quite like the look of CSLs although really feeling either black or gun metal. Think could really compliment the colour, hood and other 'idea's' I have in mind!

19" gun metal CSL reps would look so good!!! Especially clean, and in the sun.
