100% lacquer peel.
Factory paint shouldn’t do that however, and so that panel may have had a poor respray done by a bodyshop.
Same thing happened to me after I left a car wash.
Was gonna fix it but sold the car before I got around to it.
Looks the same doesnt it. I think the person i had bought it off did have the front bumper re-sprayed but doesnt look right to the rest of the car. Cant afford to get it done this now so need to find a product for a DIY job this now.
That looked a great colour you had
Cheers man, it’s called Montego Blue. Used to come up nice after a good wash and polish.
I wouldn’t bother with a quick fix as it is likely to happen on other parts of the panel (which would mean you would continuously be touching up the paint).
I took mine to quite a few body shops and the average quote of a front bumper respray was £250-£300.
However some were adamant that in order to get it matched properly I would need a front end respray (bumper, bonnet and wings) which would cost up to £1,000.
From the pic you’ve supplied, yours doesn’t look too bad and so probs doesn’t need a front end spray, however just giving you the heads up.
