Passenger window not working

How easy a job is this to do.?..Buy a repair kit or just replace the window mechanism?

Will be sound proofing both doors at the same time to get rid of that rattle feel when closing the door.. :headbang:

Has the mech actually broken? It's not hard to change by the looks of it but I know for sure it's a pig to realign. If you grip it and push down does it go down?

Not tried to push it down but will give it a go today. Off to work in her today as not used in a few days..

Window goes down half and inch then stops. Comes up the same amount.
Is this a sign the mechanism is ok and any idea what else it would be. Can hear motor click and attempt to move window but that's all. Maybe a broken cable?

Cheers

Bound to be the cable frayed. Get a repair kit for around £20 if you are good at diy. Hardest part is getting mech back together, but worth it for the cost saving.

Brilliant, Cars still at work so will take the door panels off tomorrow and see where I am with it..Hopefully your spot on. More cash for other stuff like fuel which is always a good thing.....Let you know how I get on...

I did this repair a few months ago. The cable kit is fiddly to fit but do-able. There's a couple of videos on YouTube you might want to watch to get the general idea.

Make sure to disconnect your battery before disconnecting the door airbag..

I repaired mine with a kit from Ebay nearly 2 years ago - Stainless cable instead of mild steel. Cost was just under £20 and an hour or so. I actually bought a kit from same seller for WHEN the drivers one goes.

Kit had cable and a new wheel for the motor.

Cheers guys and thanks for the reminder about the battery..
Looking for kit as we type.....

If you are doing this for the first time it will take a lot longer than an hour. I would say 2-3 as a minimum trying to work it out as you go along, even with YouTube videos etc. That’s using a £20 kit. Buying a complete regulator will reduce this time potentially quite a bit, but costs a lot more.

You’ll need a pack of these as well as they don’t supply with the kits, even though you have to drill rivets out.

Just ordered the kit and have a half day free Friday and Saturday morning so hopefully by Sat afternoon could be out on a drive with roof down, fully working windows and solid feeling doors.
Thanks for your help and advice lads...Appreciated loads..
