I'm looking to part ex the Z4, its an 07 plate 2.0i SE with 19k on the clock and ive been offered £12k from one garage, does this seem about right or should i push for more?

ps. Hope this is in the right section.

Spot on. That's the price "what car" valuation shows.

I have been trying to sell my car privately on eBay over 1 week now, but still have no emails/calls. Is the market for roadster/convertible quiet atm?

if you can get 12 on a trade in after paying 13.5 - thats not too bad actually, although I'm sure you could push it up a bit and would get more privately.

What are you changing to?

What really matters on a trade is the 'price to trade'

Frankly it does not matter what they offer you as it's the relative /net difference that matters. Some dealers make the new one high to appear to give a good trade in others the reverse, etc.

CJ, spot on advice. Many dealers have higher marked prices on used cars, then appear to offer better trade in allowances than other dealers, the price to change could be the same but the clever ones convince customers that they are offering a better deal.

Another of my all time favourite affordable cars is calling so I'm getting a Nissan 350z gt 300. I was planning on keeping the z4 a little longer but the deal I've been offered is to good to pass up.

Insurance is cheaper on the 350 and i'll be spending the same a month on finance but saving having to pay warranty so it works out cheaper. We won't mention fuel cost though ;-)

This time next week I could be driving a 2006 Kuro 350Z GT.

Presumably only for a year if you're buying from a dealer?

After which time, the depreciation will more than equal out ;)

The Z4 is gone so this is goodbye for now. Its a shame i didnt get chance to come to any meets or events but i may be back one day with an sDrive Z4.
