Parking Sensors fitted

Due for a call with a Service Manager at BMW as regards to my hill assist issue and to be honest, I am not going to have a rant. I am going to have a civilised conversation about things.

It potentially will either make or break my admiration of BMW.

 This will be interesting...

Sorry Andy didn't see your post.

So, further updates, after getting the feeling that we were getting nowhere with our dealer I wrote to BMW. Got an answer the same day saying that the satisfaction of customers is of great importance and a Customer Service Manager would be looking into it and getting in touch.
That was last Thursday.
Haven't heard from a csm but the dealer has emailed saying that they want to meet with us along with the sensor fitters to discuss options.
He also wants to look at the damage on the bumper, which isn't damage but a manufacturing fault that I pointed out to him in my email. Of course he'll probably say that it isn't.
He copied the email to someone at BMW so I am assuming that is the csm who must've been in contact with the dealer.
So we'll arrange a meeting and see what happens from there.

I reckon you should fight for two new bumpers with original bmw parts, not some 3rd party lookalike.

They tried to do it on the cheap 1st time round and it didn't pay off for them, so this time make them pay!

Seriously though, good luck with the meeting - didn't the fitter say they do do a sensor that looks OEM, so perhaps if it looks and works as OEM then if thats acceptable, you might have a solution.

Yeah, they do but he said he was reluctant to fit them as they would bond them to a plate of some sort behind the bumper and he didn't know how long they would last.
Maybe I should refer them to kevdix's efforts. Unbelievable that an 'amateur' (no offence meant kev) can achieve such results and I am having this nonsense from a BMW main dealer.

To be honest I would have left well alone and not bothered with the sensors, the more your car goes in the chances of more damage etc.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Your perfectly right :) but me knowing dealers and with it being a retro fit rather than factory I wouldn't have had it done, for me it would be quite a drastic thing to have the bumpers drilled out etc, I guess though Carol wasn't too know she wasn't getting a factory finish job :headbang:

Yes it is.
Spoke to BMW today. In a nutshell, they gave our dealer £350 in may. Our dealer deliberately didn't tell us this it seems.
We were told at the time that BMW had agreed to fit rear sensors to the car, BMW knew nothing about the sensors. Of course we said that we wanted front and rear fitted and the dealer fitted the cheapest sensors. If we had agreed to just the rear it seems they would have pocketed the rest of the money and even with the front I think it didn't cost them £350. The customer service lady at BMW is not best pleased with them at all. She said she is emailing the dealer to ask some questions.
She was careful to say that the sensors fitted were nothing to do with them and not covered under warranty but they would support us with the dealer and that if they didn't sort it to our satisfaction we are to ring her.
If the dealer had said at the time they had £350 did we still want the sensors fitting or have the money, we would have had the money.
She said that she was very disappointed in the way the dealer had conducted themselves.
I am so f**king pissed off with our dealer.
I asked on the hill assist thread but people who had compensation did you have to sign anything to say you had accepted it?

Thats shocking, BMW give compensation to the dealer who then doesnt fully pass it onto you. have you named and shamed the dealer (its a long thread to re read)

Do you know what make of sensors you had fitted?

We had some x vision sensors retrofitted to the Mrs MK3 Focus and that only cost about £100 so the dealer will have spent less than that!!

The dealer is Rybrook Shrewsbury. I don't know the make of the sensors. I've got no beef with the company that fitted them, they've done a cracking job with what they were asked to do by the dealer. They are a company called Scenic Group and I would recommend them if anyone wanted any sensors fitting. They have only done what's been asked of them by our dealer.

Shocking Carol, I hope you get your car sorted out.

I think this has put me off BMW for life. I thought going to BMW would guarantee satisfaction however I have found out, it's not the case at all. If anything, it's just been one big, expensive mistake.

I dunno if it's BMW directly or my dealer.

The way my dealer spoke to me was shocking. I need to take my car back, I sincerely hope I don't have to speak to anyone apart from the service girl as I don't think I could hide my disappointment.
