Parking anxiety

So I collected my Zed last Saturday and what a day it was, drives like a dream. Its my first super nice car but I seem to be fretting a lot when I park it in places like the work car park etc. I keep driving around to find spots away from busy areas and keep moving my car around in the spot to be ideally spaced so that no one can have an excuse to hit it with their doors. I'm becoming a tad OCD...whats it like for other newbies? And does this feeling subside after time oldies..?
 
Nope, we get more paranoid and start taking note of the number plates of the cars parked either side (or taking pics)!
 
Er....It doesn't get any better, ever. You'll get super fit driving a zed. Parking miles away from everyone else and walking!
 
I've installed a knight rider kit system in mine. Tells everyone to step back or they'll face the hoff :rofl:

I'm paranoid 24*7. No moving the car for me. I get a ticket unless I park in my dedicated space at work.

Only ever park in an 'end' space. That guarantees you can only be hit from one side. Usually I park so far to the side of the bay it leaves me safe.

I often have to walk far to get where I'm going :headbang:

I am going to post a different version of a pic I posted earlier to reassure you that it's perfectly normal :thumbsup:

Top of an 8 storey car park, and if you can zoom enough you can just see the white line of the space next to me is at least 2 and a half feet away, because I parked so far over. There was one other car on this level, at the other end :D

Additional benefit - walked down and back up all the stairs :thumbsup:
 
Its called 'ZedHead' and you'll soon get used to the feelings of anxiety, pride and varying degrees of panic :thumbsup:
 
I always park my Z4 in a 'safe' location to avoid contact with other car doors. For me, I assume this behavior is a lifetime affliction. (When it comes to parking my 2001 Dodge pickup truck, I don't put much thought into it. The truck is not a bad vehicle -- just not cherished by me nearly as much as the Z4.)
 
I'll take the OCD to another level. I now sometimes don't even take the car to work during the summer, because the tree sap covers my car. It's better at home. So forget about someone dinging your door, think about a bird crapping on your car and it festering on your paintwork for 8 hours til you come back!!!! Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Phew, I've just woken up....

You'll end up with an agrophobic car Nick - she'll try her hardest not to start, then when you finally manage take her out you'll find the roof won't go down and she'll not go round corners till there are no other cars visible in any direction :D
 
I have been like this with very car I have ever had. I always try and park on an end space. Unfortunately the work car park only has 6 end spaces, of which 2 of them are right next to a walk way for college students (several thousand of them) which scares me
