Painting brake calipers - now painted :-)

Yeah, I really like them - shame the rears are so weedy :roll: I flirted with red but decided that was too much for me. I also toyed with the idea of black but am glad I didn't as I do like being able to see them.
 
Looks great Bing nice one. Inspired by this I'm gonna do mine when I get some time. Wanna do a colour but my zed is very much black and grey so may bottle it and do them black or silver.

Silver would really stand out nicely behind your wheels... Or blue might work on yours Ste, tie into the roundels ?

I wanted to get them done in time for zedfest tbh, hence why I made the decision and just got on with it. I am pleased I have inspired you, given your encouragement of me with my brakes... Even though RJS-Z4 actually did the work :P

I've got the carbon black and white roundels same as you haha. Silver probably will look good behind the black like you say.

And on your second point it just goes to show what a great forum this is :D

Oops - tried to magnify your sig and the roundel looked blue... Still might work, but silver is the new black as far as I'm concerned :P
 
I've just painted mine with Halfords Satin black heat paint and really pleased with the way it looks. I had to put on 2-3 coats to give a more smooth finish. I have a silver Z so thought I would go with a bit of contrast against the polished 108's.

I got two coats on, the second made a real difference to surface texture. I had read the halfords stuff needs more coats... But the reason I didn't just get it from there was they don't do it in silver.

Not impressed. I don't react well to being prevented from finishing a job, even by God. Additionally, Mrs Bing wasn't going to tolerate me taking another half day later in the week to do the other side. Necessity is of course the mother of invention so in response I went camping, as you do...

I am a genius :P

Took a bit longer doing one wheel at a time, and dinner got in the way... But finally all finished. The results are not perfect, but I am well chuffed with how they have turned out and they pass the 'do they look good from 4 feet away' test. They've just added a wee finishing touch to the car IMO :

the car looks lovely bing!!! really does!!! think the non //ms look awesome with the ///M wheels the agreesive offsets just work with them, you should consider a set when you get the funds together :-)

I would love ///M rims, they would also allow me to get rid of the spacers. One day I shall have some, on this car or the next :driving:

I wasn't even waterproof Ranski - it's one of those child beach shades. Bit less crowded than Glastonbury though :lol:

It did feel like I was on a proper mission once it was up and the rain was off me, though I did worry some toe rag might nick it whilst I was having some chow. The neighbours just shook their heads at me. Again :P
 
I too have experienced that 'I've started so I will damn will finish it' feeling too many times

LOL at neighbors comment - I am sure mine think I sexual relations with the Z. I have actually started to do work on the car when they are out :)

Very nice job there, bing. You've reminded me that I need to paint the bit around the hubs silver, rather than blsck.

im guessing you have to pry these off to do a brake job? im interested in them just need to know whats involved for after, did you do rears also?
