Well,,, it might come down to the cam ledges needing to be changed or the timing reset, not sure but just for information sake the long cable which is easily moved out of the way when taking out the Vano's hooks to the bottom Vano. That cable is routed around under the Vano and extends up towards the top of the motor.
The shorter cable which routes downwards and seems very short and restricted actually hooks to the top Vano.
I'm only mentioning this because logically it would appear that they should be connected the other way, and I have made that mistake myself,,, The car still tries to run, it starts up with a rough idle and may stall. After a bit of spitting and sputtering it will kinda smooth out, but it will seem like it wants to stall at every stop sign or red light.
The code reader I have identifies the problem as an E something 82 code I think it was but it meant sticking Vano which is what the p1554 code means also.
