It’ll do yer piles as well....everyone’s a winner..

 Thanks John, I did see this on eBay but I don't think there would be enough room to use it, besides the other half might get funny ideas and use it on me :?

As Ron's suggested I've ordered one of those rubber strap tools and see if that does the trick, I'm surprised how stuck fast the thing is.

Just a thought, but have you tried to remove it wearing a rubber glove - you'll get much more grip on the glass.

Come on Tim lad quit lounging around....it ain’t gonna unscrew itself is it.... :poke:

If it's a NEFF oven, then you can get a removal tool that works well.

Other make will probably supply something similar.

Your full of surprises John, that looks tight mate :P

Mine was rock solid so I used an old rubber kitchen glove and adjustable pipe pliers. glove gave grip without shattering the glass.
Failing the glove I'd have used rubber bands, piece of inner tube (yes I have lots from off roiad Jeeps), anything grippy

Remind me not to ask you to change the oil on my car John

New rubber tool is on its way so in the meantime I've put me feet up :)

I did try a rubber glove but to no avail and then went and tried it on the cooker and it didn't work on that either

Many thanks, mines a Hotpoint and did search for the cover removal tool but it looks like only Bosch/Siemens/Neff do them :( Trust the Germans :D

My saviour tool arrived from Amazon a while ago and it took less than 1 second to remove the cover, after all that huffing and puffing with a rubber glove and wearing a gimp suit

What a great little tool for a few quid.

Thanks for the suggestions

Great news OP!

After all, a man can never have too many tools (and I suppose even a rubber ones counts). :)

Many thanks, I was slightly embarrassed as the other half watched on how easily the cover unscrewed and has suggested I need to join the gym before I become a complete weakling
