Looking forward to a few Sunday runs & breaky meets Ed :driving: you couldn't pick a better part of the world to move to & that's from a Lancashirian
Absolutely Andy, very much looking forward to it. First breakfast my treat

You’ll be missed down here mate, but it makes perfect sense. Here’s to the future, buddy! :driving:

Thanks Rob, you have a great home and lifestyle there and Donna and I enjoyed our visits to you on our way down to Devon

Hope your plan comes together soon.

(It’s not that grim up north!)
Don't know about that Ron, just reading that it's snowing up North, while we are basking in sunshine
Although our daughter likes to send plenty of photos of blue skies from up there. :)

Thanks Ronk

My wife made the trip north from Bedford to Durham University in 1968 and seems to have settled ok. She can even understand the dialect now! (Almost)

Off up to Whinfell Center Parcs tomorrow for a week. We looked around for a base in which to travel out and get a feel for the area and hopefully secure a rental for when we move. We booked the two storey 3 bedroom lodge there which is big enough for our son and daughter to come and visit. Hopefully the weather will be ok for the journey and the plan is to go up the A1 then cut across on the A66 to Penrith. If anyone has good knowledge of the area and any ideas for renting then please comment

Good luck to you and best thing I ever did. Moved from Central London to the Welsh coast 10 years ago. Healthier, happier, fitter and wealthier than I was ever in London. I actually get to use my cars rather than just worry whether someone has stolen a wing mirror and keyed the thing.

That’s the plan Babw

Back home today after a week in The Dales to find a rental before we buy. Unfortunately we didn’t find anything so we will be going back up again soon. Suitable properties that we would be interested in renting are being snapped up and likewise with properties for sale. A bit disheartening but we won’t give up and hopefully as restrictions are being lifted more properties should come on to the market. 9E4E9235-1B48-47B2-A3DD-54EF0ACF8CBC.jpeg

I had read about your planned move but missed this thread because I was blatting around Wales at the time!

Hopefully you will be able to find something suitable, but property seems to be moving very fast just now - as I discovered recently.

Good luck anyway.

Iain.

Houses are selling quick and for good money where I live too! 20% increase in a year here; stamp duty holiday and low interest rates to blame IMO.
Keep at it, though. It will happen

Thanks guys, we sold very quickly and was surprised how much our home had gone up in the two and a half years we’ve been here. That was good for us but now we’re on the other side as a buyer. We have decided that renting would be our best option and our buyers want to be in by the end of June to get the stamp duty relief.
