Just been to the dealers and saw a Orange 1.8 they asked if I liked it answer Nope :thumbsdown: engine to small colour to bright
I must be getting old. :lol:

I'm sure for many the 1.8 will be their dream zed, and it will still have the spanking 4cyl turbo.

Come on a bloated MX5 get real please.

It's a shame people do down anything less than the 3.0 on this forum. It's supposed to be a Zed community. :x

Well said Tim! Engine snobbery again... Not everyone wants, or can afford the bigger engined cars. Why mock those who want to buy what may be their dream car. This thread will no doubt be bringing out the phrase "poverty spec" at some stage.

Oh, and BTW - my humble little 2.0 Z3 is way more fun to drive than my 3.0 E85, despite being down on power by nearly 80bhp.
 
If I'm honest I don't think I would, the 20i has just about enough poke most of the time.
But I wouldn't belittle it as we all have different needs and budgets.
 
hate the colour, intrigued by the engine.

Apparently its the same as the 20i with the same capacity (1997cc), mpg (41.5 combined), etc etc

The only difference is power 156 vs 184 and torque 240 vs 270

Seems an interesting prospect especially as tax and insurance appear to be the same so other than price, im not sure why you wouldnt go for the 20i .. Or perhaps its possible to be the i18 and have the ecu reprogrammed for less?
 
Not a popular view on here but if it was 1.8 Z4 or 2.0 MX-5 - I'd have the Mazda. but I'm biased I had a 1.8 MX-5 back in 2002 - rather than a 1.9 Z3 .
 
I think it is all about the car not the size of the engine. I would feel good driving a Zed no matter what the engine size. Most people don't like driving fast and wouldn't use a bigger engine. They will still get the thrill and looks of driving a fabulous roadster and mock people like me getting 20mpg. At the end of the day a 1.8 turbo petrol is no pea shooter.

Alright I went for the big engine version but I have a small penis :oops:

I totally understand people mocking me for getting yellow but I like to be talked about. You should see my collection of Alfie Moon/Noel Edmunds shirts. Can't wait for the summer. I have a nice leapard print shirt to mark the occasion.

I love the orange :)
