Ooops ! sold the Zed

Kryton, it's a very small market in this area for cars like a Z4, in other words if someone wants to buy you jump at it otherwise it could be years.

I didn't expect to sell it so I was gladly resigned to the idea of keeping it, I guess I was wrong :!:

Other than that I'm doing fine, working a bit, some up north in the oilsands and a bit in the city. Hope to go back up north soon , the more I can get of the Oil money the quicker I can retire (again). (I got bored after 6 weeks so I went back to work)

Steel grey with chrome pack :thumbsup: Rare over here and I got extremely lucky. Frustratingly I saw it for sale on Autotrader while browsing on holiday earlier this year. If I had the room I'd have bought it back off the guy I sold it to.

Yes it is difficult at first isn't it, I only work 1 day a month on avarage and I have to say being a single chap I don't have time to go back to work full time anyway :titshake: :driving:

Thanks for the kind comments on the Zed :) appreciate them,

Unfortunately it was never possible to fit a glass screen due to the hood design and it not being shallow enough which you would need for a single piece glass. The plastic screen folds along its centre length back on itself for which I usually place a screen cover to stop getting it scratched and creased, the plastic can scratch easily if gritted up.

Thing I love about th Z3 is they are a very well made and engineered car, there were problems with the boot spot welds popping and diff brackets cracking if the cars have been mistreated but generally they're bulletproof. Its definitely better screwed together than the E89. :cry:

The AC Schnitzers are now off the Zed and I have these on it now with all season tyres,



Gutted that I will be looking to sell in the spring as need a more practical hatch :(

The only thing that kept me from being a Z3 owner when I was shopping around was the lack of steering wheel tilt. I had found one in decent nick at about half the price of the Z4 I eventually bought, but the wheel was almost rubbing on my knees which seemed like it could be a bit of a safety hazard in a fast-response situation. I still love the look though, and it is a great ride.

I think the part where he states 'if mistreated' clarifies what he's saying there ronk...
 
What sort of mistreatment does it take to break spot welds and crack diff mounts? Its not a builders transit flat back.

I think you would have to try very hard to do it in most cars! I have never broken a spot weld in a car yet.

No I think what is being said is the car is a very pretty but rather delicate flower and needs to be treated gently. :D
 
Interesting how Mcbeee's thread on selling his E89 has turned into an open discussion about which Z version is best...

From what I could gather when I was looking to buy a Z3, this only affected the diff structure on the high power versions - it seemed to me that the design didn't have enough strength for the stresses involved. Apart from that, I don't think there is any major issue with the Z3. I certainly wouldn't call it delicate.
