I started the Cambridge weight plan last fathers day and have gone down from 20st to 14st (thats gone from almost morbidly obese down to just being overweight) and built my running back up to nearly 10k (ran 4 marathons before gaining weight)...bearing in mind this time last year I couldn't walk round the park without getting out of breath.
The scary thing is how we underestimate the calories in food. I was allowed a 400 calorie evening meal and discovered that ONE piece of KFC chicken can be 400 calories! Feck, I'd comfortably eat a 6 piece bargain bucket on my own (not all the fries though, KFC fries are crap).
I went to Florida last September and told my consultant I was having 2 weeks of eating pure shite...which I did, but I also walked loads around the theme parks and changed from full-fat coke to coke zero. Came home and had stayed the same weight! So with exercise and drinking you can "get away" with it for a little while.
IHOP, Waffle House etc all do the cooked breakfast with pancakes etc. Don't know if I could dip a donut into egg yolk but I could eat them both in one sitting.
Apart from the obvious health benefits, I find I can now get in/out of the Z4 easier without hurting my hip!
