Well I'm having a great time here with Mrs OG. The food is great & I've had a couple of great burgers...however this current ad on TV just puts me off big time :sick2: . Anyone tried one  ? Hope the link works (keep the sick bag nearby).

Haven't had the pleasure yet. Doesn't look healthy. We've left half portions of dinners before; just too much!

 Hmmmm....I notice they use the only slim guy in America for the advert....

One wouldn’t hurt but I think I’d be sick with all that dripping butter....

Got no problem with that - although I'd prefer some blue cheese on it too.

Just don't like it when they put battered onion rings or hash browns on them (I like both, but only as sides).

Had a 'challenge' burger once (3 beefburgers / 3 chicken burgers / 3 bean burgers / cheese / bacon / hash browns / etc.) but it was very dry and the beanburgers were just like soggy cardboard...so I only ate the meaty parts...and got proper chops instead of the curly fries.

Back in the UK now.
So not so keen most of you? Not surprised tbh. Another, I didn't get a link to, advertised a sweet waffle with strawberries & maple syrup on (so good so far). On the same plate next to that was a fried egg & bacon. Any takers? Umm....not for me. How can you have those on the same plate?

Was at a dental course in the US once, having breakfast with a couple of US colleagues after a bit of a session the night before. One of them had sausage, bacon, 2 fried eggs and glazed donuts, which he dipped into his egg yolks before eating with some sausage. Oh and maple syrup over the whole lot :-(

Americans are fat ? who knew ? :o
Well, Experts have predicted that by the year 2020 91% of the United Kingdom population could be overweight or obese. (Wikipedia).
Should the pot be calling the kettle black?

I started the Cambridge weight plan last fathers day and have gone down from 20st to 14st (thats gone from almost morbidly obese down to just being overweight) and built my running back up to nearly 10k (ran 4 marathons before gaining weight)...bearing in mind this time last year I couldn't walk round the park without getting out of breath.

The scary thing is how we underestimate the calories in food. I was allowed a 400 calorie evening meal and discovered that ONE piece of KFC chicken can be 400 calories! Feck, I'd comfortably eat a 6 piece bargain bucket on my own (not all the fries though, KFC fries are crap).

I went to Florida last September and told my consultant I was having 2 weeks of eating pure shite...which I did, but I also walked loads around the theme parks and changed from full-fat coke to coke zero. Came home and had stayed the same weight! So with exercise and drinking you can "get away" with it for a little while.

IHOP, Waffle House etc all do the cooked breakfast with pancakes etc. Don't know if I could dip a donut into egg yolk but I could eat them both in one sitting.

Apart from the obvious health benefits, I find I can now get in/out of the Z4 easier without hurting my hip!

20190425_171632.jpgWe did a bit of a US tour and finished off in Vegas. Just before dropping the car off at the airport we stopped off at the South Point Casiono and had a burger in the Steak n Shake...........................and yes I had the Wisconsin. I knew it had butter on it but didn't imagine for one second it was like that. I can feel my arteries hardening now. :o

hey dont have a go at me ffs.. and your quoting wikipedia as a source of fact now ?? or are you about to accuse me of being fat-ist
wikipedia and the word "expert" are not commonly seen together. experts say that by the year 2020 it was found to total bollocks and made up figures - discuss.

also our (uk) medical definition of obese differs from say usa, where upon a couple of kilos extra weight herein the uk is regarded as medically obese, 2 kilos in the usa equals an extra notch on a belt and. your lookin slim chuck..

Now that's what I call a breakfast . Far too much on the plate for a wimp like me though, 4 chipolatas & 4 sausages ffs! What are those things between the black pud & the eggs? Looks like a roasty & a good chunk of crackling :idunno:.
Was it yours & did you finish it, that's the question? :poke:

Looking at that makes me feel almost as sick as that butter burger monstrosity.
THe only vaguely healthy thing on that plate is the tomato slice but then thats probably been fried and all the beneficial tryptophan evaporated out of it!
I'll take one of the eggs though.

I thought the butter burger ad was a pisstake until I remembered seeing deep-fried burger pizzas sold in the Bowery District of NY last time I was there. Fat Amurrrrcan bastids!!!

If anyone's remotely interested in controlling/burning off guilt-calories you can't go wrong with a bit of biking.
You've all probably got one rusting away in the shed somewhere. Go and pump it up and get out there!
