Only in America

Proud to be American. Monday morning the Ford motor Flat Rock assembly plant in Michigan will begin production of medical equipment instead of Mustangs to aid in the fight against covid-19. The 10 hour shifts will be manned by volunteers. Reminds me of Ford's war effort at Willow Run in WWII where Ford Motor Company built one B-24 Liberator airplane every 63 minutes. Thousands of B24 bombers were produced to fight Nazi Germany.

It does make you think though!
Why does it take a killer virus to make everyone be nice and helpful?
All the F1 teams in the UK are designing medical kit in minutes!

The technology is there, it just takes something serious to make the money grabbers stop and be nice people for a change.

Maybe we need more viruses....................... discuss

Regarding F1 teams, after this is over ferrari will be stating mclaren and mercedes did not make the equipment to the correct specification.

Great work scootr. Well done!

Good to see someone being proactive. Well done.
Where to the clear screens come from? I'm assuming you are just making the headband bit that they fix to?

I will send the halos off to a group who is fixing the shields. There is particulars on the website. I believe they are laser cutting a lexan product and using a hole punch. Others are punching holes and others are snapping the shield on the halo and yet others are delivering to emergency personnel. It's good to be doing something...
A side bonus is my printer has been idle for 2 years since the new PC. And now I can back to drawing and printing fun little bits.

And you're up early to do it!

Must be hard to sleep with the rain hammering on the roof

It's freakin raining cats and dogs....again. Seriously - enough's enough.
PS
Whoever is praying for rain please stop.

That will help with the water levels
Yes, we need it but not all at once. :headbang: The Sierras have a huge snow pack this year. That's our biggest supply of drinking water.
Big news is our county of 2.4 million. Any one in public must wear a mask or some type of face covering. The fine for not having a mask on in public is $1000.00. Recently 2 sheriffs deputies have died from covid-19.

Story From A Minnesota State Trooper: I made a traffic stop on an elderly lady the other day for speeding on MN State Highway 201 at Mile Marker 197 just East of McGregor, MN. I asked for drivers' license, registration, and proof of insurance.

The lady took out the required information and handed it to me. In with the cards I was somewhat surprised (due to her advanced age) to see she had a Concealed Carry Permit. I looked at her and asked if she had a weapon in her possession at this time.

She responded that she indeed had a .45 automatic in her glove box.

Something....body language, or the way she said it....made me want to ask her if she had any other firearms.

She did admit to also having a 9mm Glock in her center console. Now, I had to ask one more time if that was all.

She responded once again that she did have just one more, a .38 special in her purse.

I then asked her what she was afraid of?

She looked me right in the eye and said, "Not A Fuking Thing!'
