One seriously depressed MC owner

I'd guess with that many miles on it will also be close to needing its second set of discs, an Inspection II service if not already done and it will have no tax if my experience is anything to go by.

Some AUC cars are cheap for a reason although equally some of the dearer ones are no better........
 
There are very few AUC cars that have any tax, regard to service that's all negotiable with the dealer.
 
Agreed, almost all used cars (unless it's in the first year which I think is non-refundable) will come with no tax.
 
It's fairly cheap (and great colour combo), but...

Ultimately you're talking about a six year old car, with high mileage, which will only attract a specialist buyer who'll need some money to run it - it's only since being a member on here I've come to appreciate the difference in cost (both mpg and servicing etc) between the m and a 3.0.

Spec doesn't bother me too much personally - if I was browsing it's just the mileage I'd be concerned over.
 
Guys the Coupe at Ocean is my old car! The picture posted here and the other pics used by Ocean actually looks like the picture used by another dealer who I originally bought it off, I am very sure of it!! The pictures do not do it justice (look dull).
The car was loved but also was my daily driver. Anything it needed was done without any concern to cost. The dealer has now resprayed the front bumper and refurbed the front wheels. There are a few scratches on the rear bumper that I'm surprised they haven't sorted.
The milage looks high but it did a lot of motorway miles at an easy MPH/RPM - it has not been tracked or been ragged around with a cold engine and neither has it been used on short journeys. So when people say "the milage is high that will cost a lot to run" I say rubbish to that, it's had quite an easy life. A 20k hard driven car would probably be in worse condition mechanically especially if not driven welll with mechanical sympathy in mind (ie, not warmed up properly, revved hard, used on short trips around town etc)
It was also run on super unleaded only!

IMO, as I know the car very well, it's a bloody bargain!
I loved the car but needed something more practical. I really wanted to keep it as a second car but had no storage for it. However, I have actually been tempted to try to buy the car back again as I do really miss it and I'm still working in the area and sad to see it still sat there. I got a lot more than 9.5k for it. There's no profit in that car for Ocean, especially with a 1 year warranty thrown in and considering the refurbished wheels/resprayed front bumper!

I also wouldn't say it is a poor spec, it was the perfect spec for me! The sat nav look I thought look horrible in the Z4, and real M's should have the weight kept down a bit and more for pure driving enjoyment (less options :) ).

Now we know that Darren was the previous owner and a bit of history, it looks a serious bargain for someone. Can't be there for long
 
Wow that is a good deal then, easily the cheapest M Coupe on the market and a well loved example by the sounds of it. Spec wouldn't be a problem for me. I hardly use the Nav or Bluetooth, although I suppose it's useful to have now and then. Heated seats are nice but again not necessary...It's all about that engine and the awesome looks which this one has. And the mileage really isn't an issue, as long as its got a FSH and well looked after its barely halfway through its life. An absolute bargain for someone...
 
Half way through its life??? It's unusual when any modern cars engine wears out! I bet am S54 would go to 300k + easily if services correctly!

It's just people get worried about miles!! Not sure why.
 
Bit like marrying a 75 year old I guess, might get a few months, might get a good number of years yet.

Like with people, at the later stages in life more items are more likely to fail. That is what people are worried about.

Might not be as desirable, but would still go like a steam train and have a fair amount of life in her yet!

I said BARELY through its life!! So yer I agree with your 300k+ estimate too :)

And I love your likening to a 38 year old porn star :lol: Put this car next to one that's £5k more with 50k miles less, I bet they'd still get to 155mph in the same time and would be equally as fun (or desirable :wink: !)

Mines an 06' on 67k miles but it doesn't bother me, I really look after it and plan to keep as long as possible. Yet some garage Queen owners and wannabees would consider this unbearingly high and sniff their noses up at it, which is ridiculous when you consider it's an average of 10k miles a year. I average about 7-8k miles PA now, the car is in great condition and has a lot of options. I think you have to look at each car as an individual and take it on merit...

The one for sale here I would say is worth every penny and is a good buy for someone.

What are everyone else's M's mileages on now out of interest...?

Yep, full BMW SH - usually earlier than needed but never later. It also had new front disks and pads very recently too. Well, nearly a year ago now but the car has hardly done many miles since then.
I owned the car since 6800 miles so overall the history is mostly mine.
If I had a means to store the car for a few years at reasonable cost I would be very tempted to negotiate getting the car back.......especially as I've ended up with an X1 :).
I love the old E30 M3's but the prices for decent ones are like £20k now. When you take away the racing pedigree, those are now 20-25 year old pieces of metal, many hiding a lot of rust I'm sure (they hide their rust well).Here we have one of BMW's recent finest examples, 70% more power than an E30 M3, stronger, faster, safer, one year BMW warranty yet nobody wants to pay £13k for a modern classic. Crazy world :).

I hope the car finds a good home. I am so surprised it hasn't sold. I think the location probably has something to do with it.

Good point, but that is a porn star specific issue, where experience counts as a positive. In machinery terms, wear and wear will result from use. Being a Dr, your best to tell us if this is the same principle in the human body!
