One less Z4MR...

Just a heads up to all that there is one less Z4MR on the road... As my car has been declared a total loss.

I came out a few weeks ago to find this...

Minicab on the phone apparently.... Police left a note as his car was unable to move and blocked the road.

I was going to buy it back but got offered a "fair" amount for the salvage.

Shame though it had FSH, nearly every option including cruise, etc, BMW warranty and only 45k miles... One of only 10 in carbon black too.

ETA I was going to part it out on here but I've too much going on. I've informed the salvage that they should come on here as it has no bonnet damage, carbon dash, red heated, electric seats, etc.

I've got the aero skirts, original 224 wheels, wind deflector, ZHP, red door arm rests, etc that I will be selling.

I couldn't get my H&S exhaust off that was on the car (no ramp) so that's also there if this car shows back up soon.

What makes you sure it will be broken for spares ?

I don't think it will necessarily, I could have put it back on the road for a reasonable amount but sourcing parts (bumpers, etc) takes time and then there is no guarantee it will be fine mechanically until you strip it down.

I reckon it's possible it will be roadworthy again but it will never be the same as such.

Shame the wheels (genuine CH's and mint) were mullered and I couldn't get the exhausts off too.

Very sorry to hear about your car.

Hopefully you'll be back in a zed again soon.

On a side note, what do you want for the ZHP knob?

Very sad...I've always disliked cab drivers, very often the person/retard you'd least want to drive you anywhere!

When it's all complete will be interesting to hear how the insurance negotiations went, must be difficult for them to price the pay out for a '10 year old Z4'...!

Won't it be the same as with any other car ? Usually based on 2/3 other similar cars currently for sale :?
A good few around between £12500 / £14500 so perhaps not such a bad outcome

Once it's all settled properly I'll happily disclose all the relevant information for parties that are interested :)

Gutted for you, but you do seem a lot more upbeat than I would be; guessing a good valuation then.

These 'professional' drivers leave a lot to be desired.

Initial valuation was £10,180 based on glasses which was immediately rejected.

Iv rejected a revised offer of £15,000 from the third party insurer and the exact/final settlement will depend on the value of the salvage and exact value they put on the car as I believe £15,000 is still on the low side.

Keep pushing. I purchased mine recently with 7k miles & was told they offered market rates & to Perry's Hexagon comment above...I will leverage this as hard as possible!

Good luck!
