Duckman, While its undeniable that the vaccine doesn't provide reliable protection against infection it absolutely does provide a big boost in terms of survivability to those most at risk (elderly/obese/underlying health issues). The very data that article mentions is a testament to that fact as while yes the majority of those in hospital with covid are vaccinated the numbers are substantially lower than they were last year before the vaccine for those risk groups and the death rate is also far lower.

Just compare the cases vs deaths in terms of the trends, the UK has had similar numbers of new cases to the "peak" in 2020 for multiple months (since about July) yet the deaths are a fraction (very roughly 1/10) of those in 2020

As far as I am aware no one has yet even isolated the SARS-CoV-2 virus. You mention “statistics” yet I note that you mention none. The most that I would be willing to possibly give a nod of agreement to would perhaps be “observation”. There have been observations of a set of symptoms that have been labeled as Covid-19. Are you aware that the so called Delta variant has no test to distinguish between it and the initial strain of the virus, that is just one small example of what we are being lead to believe as fact but it is nothing but suggestion or worse yet propaganda. Science is found lacking when it comes to this whole mess. If that were not the case I would expect to see more agreement among the scientific community, including doctors from many disciplines, I’m not seeing that, are you? In fact I’m seeing quite the opposite.

I don’t hate anyone here for having a different opinion or understanding of the current situation that we all find ourselves in at this point in time. We all have strong opinions on the issues at hand, some state them more politely than others and at times I have found myself resorting to tactics and words that I could have relayed in a more thoughtful manner.

What I find most distasteful, and quite like school-yard behavior, are the all too common ad hominem attacks which are uncalled for, especially so in a group of those likeminded in some aspects (such as all being BMW enthusiasts). As always we as humans, though we disagree, we should not be disagreeable.

I too am getting sick of the topics on here,and with certain people who seem to want to continue,time and again, having a go at anyone who voices their opinions,if those opinions don't agree with theirs.

No they don't it would be the same as a DNR (do not resuscitate) that person is entitled to refuse treatment. A doctor however cant (or shouldn't) refuse to treat that person because they are a JW
