I can vouch for that, I'm 20 and when buying my car, found the Z4 3.0, Porsche Boxster 2.7 and Mercedes SLK 3.0 all to be around £850, bizarrely a TVR Chimaera 400 was £150 CHEAPER than those three and a Chevrolet Corvette C5 was £100 more, I'm still trying to figure out why the Corvette was so cheap.. (relativly speaking) :P

People don't understand that most insurance prices are not mainly based on the value of the vehicle or the size of the engine. Insurance companies go by statistics and I can't imagine that alot of Corvettes were involved in crashes especially in the uk which in their eyes makes the car "safer". The more popular the car is with younger driveres the more you will pay insurance, it's a fact that younger people are the ones which tend to crash more and drop the statistics.

I think that's hit the nail on the head, and it just goes to show most young people don't appreciate the economies of a TVR

Yup, complete nutter - must've cost you a fortune :o

On the M all you do is press the button once briefly to switch the DSC all the way off - extremely serious 'DO NOT TOUCH' briefing required :!:

Yes but he's only 21 - un breakable at that age and game for a laugh !
The only saving grace is that he can only have one of his mates to show off to at any one time!

Most of us that have upgraded to an ///M from another lesser Z4 have found our premiums drop.

Mine dropped by 25% upgrading from a 2.5si :D

I got a quote for an M when I had the 2.5 and it was around 500 more, a 3.0 was 2 or 3 hundred more, yet the 400bhp jag was the same price - old man's car haha.
