This strut problem is NEVER happening to me again. So, what strut braces are you all using.
I want to keep the cost below $300.00 if possible...  Yea, this is a BMW. Fat chance...

Just add money and stir..... :worshipbmw:

Well, I am currenly using an el-cheapo e46 strut bar off ebay. Nothing close to the quality of the OEM, but seems to do its job. Albiet, it's a hinged design and just barely clears the engine cover, but cannont complain for $25.

I think BlackSapphireZ has the same strut bar (and inspired me to try the same mod).

here's my pic, diagonal cross braces were supplied by Alutec.

Does a strut brace make that much of a difference in a roadster? Is it worth it for a daily driver that I plan on keeping long-term? Or is this just an item you need if you're at the track?

mattholecko, this thread came about because Shipkiller found a crack in the strut guide that could have been avoided if he had a strut bar. The mounting collar of the strut bar reinforces the top of the strut mount :D

the most expensive and actually supposed to be best strut brace for any Z4 (strong strut) is for sale at a discounted price by C A Automotive, down from £330 to £270-250, not sure. If i hadn't bought my oem one i would have gone for this. If any1 is interested ask for Roy, he's a great help as are the rest of the team there, not a bad bit of money saved if you go for it.
