Oil Service every 2 years

I also have the same thing. My 2 years is up in July but the compute still says 4K, but I dont mind as in reality I think 2 years is a bit long for oil...

I have been quoted £219 for an inspection 1 service + brake fluid change + health check (probably free anyway). Does this sound like a good deal? I managed to get the 20% discount for having an older car. I did try and get a diagnostics thrown in to preapre for my long road trip in September but they would not entertain the idea. Just thought it would be nice to pick up any potential issues beforehand!
 
hmmm my car is 2 years and 10 months old and has not had an oil change :erm: best get onto that...
 
Sorry guys - I started another thread as I needed to clarify something related to service intervals.
I ended up posting the extract from the service book and that clearly shows how oil is 2 yearly and inspections are not time but mileage and use related.

My assumption on all this is resetting the service indicator after and oil service does not zero the clock counting down to the next mileage related inspection.
If someone wants to check that with their UK dealer that woudl be good to know.

For my part I just note all the extra oil changes and fluids in the service book.
 
Thanks Cj, yes I saw that in the book too, nobody mentioned it when I bought the car!

I have emailed my dealer and asked him to clarify, I will post the outcome!
 
sorry glastoveteran, i should clarify - I bought the car from them when it was just over two years old, so they should really have done it before selling it to me as part of the AUC scheme.

But I am still impressed with them, I didnt even have to ask - they just phoned and offered when I emailed to ask if it needed to be done!

I should think so to as they cocked up, and I doubt BME would be happy if they heard about it.
