Had one of our hoofed friends throw itself infront of the Z tonight on my way out
Only had a short time to react as they ran from a bush at the side of the road. I was travelling at about 50mph. Saw the first, and it made it across the road in front of the car, but then the second appeared. I'd already started slowing, and must have hit it at about 20mph or so at a guess. The deer ran off so I don't know how it faired, but one of my nose grilles popped out, span down the road and was promptly run over by a passing car before I'd managed to turn around and get back to it.
Hoping I can get hold of one before Sunday. No other damage apparent on the car thankfully though, although I've noticed that the passenger headlight beam seems a bit low. Not sure if it's always been like this or if it's a result of the knock, but there's zero damage to the light unit, and all the gaps are the same as on the drivers side. The levelling system still works as well, since the beam still moves up and down when starting the car, but rests at a lower point than the other side. Hopefully I can take it to the dealer and they'll look at it "under warranty".
Ho hum. Typical it would happen two working days before Gaydon! Finger's crossed the grilles are a stock item and won't need to be ordered from Germany! And a friend and I were just talking about entering the car in the show'n'shine on Sunday last night.....
