Officially antisocial

Z4mc officially antisocial, heard me coming from "way over the hill" and waiting to stop me. Country road with national limit, wasn't even speeding when they saw me, but now got an ASBO for a year. On standard exhaust in the day time...

One for me and one for the car, better than points I guess...mostly second and third, not on the limiter or full throttle as it was raining.

They only heard it as they were out of the car stopping someone else for speeding. If the car is as sold and passes all the manufacturers rules how can it be illegal to use out of town.

Are the rules different in Scotland or something? That had to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, a standard not particularly loud production car with no evidence of actual speed being remrimaded. Insane :headbang: I just heard a 458 wot in a small street in London that would no way pass most race track limits. I've never heard of anyone being pulled for their car being too loud?

So the police had a device that actually measured the number of decibels you were emitting? What was their evidence?

More importantly, what sound 'limit' is the OP supposed to have broken? There isn't one as far as I know for standard cars, it's all in the build EU regs.
I do get some quite unpleasant looking faces at mine in the country where said people assume that because my car is loud (it actually is quite loud with csl box and supersprint race box) I must be travelling faster than I am, whereas mister turbo diesel might well be travelling considerably faster just relatively silently. It's ignorance IMO and certainly an officer of the law should have no right to assume you have been behaving antisocially when he can't even see you. I would be contesting this personally.

The anti social part relates to just the noise I think. I'd still be telling them to ram it.

I have straight through shotguns on my bike and they'd blow the windows out of any 4 wheels I've ever heard. I've never even had a cop look sideways at me and I deliberately rev up if I see them :D :D . Doesn't even get an advisory on the MOT.

Utterly ridicuous! The induction noise from my S2000 sets off car alarms and I've bypassed the back boxes; my Zed is ridiculously loud in built up areas due to exhaust and intake modifications and can be heard over most other cars on A roads; and my Westie sounds like a Spitfire in flight complete with machine gun sounds when it spits back through the carbs. Despite this, the police have never commented on any of them. A stock Z4M is ather modest in comparison. I would complain...

AsboCrusoe :D that is truly ludicrous & worthy of exploring further , i find it hard to believe what the police have done is within the boundaries laid out :?

You are kidding, please tell me you are. They can't do that without evidence surely. Where they real rossers?
