Off to buy an M/// 2nd update

Dicky Lovett Hungerford have two coupes in stock. A black on black and a silver/red leather with CSL's (not sure if replicas or not). In the past they've priced their M's quite well, no idea about the current stock though, just noticed the cars were awaiting preparation a few days ago. Silver one looked v.nice, the black on black looked a little to ......black although for some I'm sure it would be the perfect combo(think it was ruby black bodywork)

Just got back from viewing the M and OMG what a pig :o
The guy told me it was in A1 condition and had to been seen. He was right about that :x
It had so call done 14000 miles the drives seat looked
like it had done 70000 mile, the rubber seal around the back window was all pick away,
broken plastic in the boot, battery cover hanging off and the engine! what a mess covered in
thick brown dust like dry out rusty water had been all over it, oil all over the engine cover and
the finish touch was all the cobwebs

Was that the one in Leeds?

Dick Lovett Hungerford were very good with me. Very approachable and an awesome location for a test drive. I'd happily buy there again if that helps you on your search!

think i will take a trip up there tomorrow for a look :driving:

Went to look at another ZM yesterday 220 mile round trip and again I was disappointed
they said it was A1 but it was more like C1 I'm beginning to think there are no good M's
out there  or maybe I'm just setting my sights to high :?

What classifies 'C1' and 'A1' for you? What mileage and price are the cars you are looking at? New these cost £45k, So for about £20-£23k on a 2-3 year old car, I would expect some wear and tear...obviously crash damage / hopeless paint / knackered interiors are a different matter!

It would be interesting to know what the current set of Z4M buyers are looking for.

Was it at BMW or independent? The indys will never prep their cars like BMW would, so you need to look past it, imagine what it would look like with a touch-up by Chipsaway and a thorough valet.

I would define A1 to be like my car, without a single swirl mark or even any hint of a scratch anywhere. The interior would also be like new or better in my case with 0 wear on the leather.

This one was at an Indy (up to now all be Indy or dealers) I am put off a bit with the private seller
as had a bad experience some years back.. I'm not asking much I phone do the Qs about the car
sounds great get there and not as the phone call (truth, is all I ask) :|
Hey pvr, sell me yours

Amount of time/petrol etc you're wasting why don't you just buy the most expensive one you can find at the dealer close enough to the spec you want and just buy it :). It'll be cheaper in the long run and you can stop losing hours of your life being fussy and travelling all over the place looking for a car. THey're not like 10 year old cars that vary a lot in condition I wouldn't have though, most are pretty similar.

If you want one, get out and buy one and start enjoying it :)

All salesmen lie (indy and dealers). :( Don't trust them until you see the car. Good thing from buying AUC is that dealer will agree to put things right in the order form when you put deposit down.
