The thing that would worry me more, though, is the fact that the OBD port must have been used a LOT of times for the cover to break.![]()

acm said:I'm sure that only the OBD plug cover can be replaced separatrly, because it was missing when I bought my E89. I know that the whole trim panel wasn't replaced.
The thing is that I can't remember if ithe OBD plug cover was replaced before picking it up from the seller or by the local indie who did the service immediately after my purchase. I need to check the paperwork I have.
I know that realoem doesn't show it as an identified part that can be ordered separately, but I wonder if it's a part that matches that from another model.
I'd need to go back thtough service records, or look to see if there a part number moulded into the plastic.
Cheers!

acm said:Hi Geoff,
The OBD cover was replaced in the pre-collection service which had picked up on all the points I raised with the dealer on the E89 I bought.
I was supplied with the service invoice which included the line "OBD Cover - Black - £34.20 Inc VAT" - unfortunately no part number details.
At that price a second-hand trim panel like the one referenced earlier in this thread is likely to be a more economic solution... other than the duct tape suggestion![]()
Cheers!
